I was at the game last night. Regarding Keyonte, I don't quite see him as a lead initiator. I don't think he processes and makes reads fast enough. I think he can play some PG, but he's more of a combo (think Booker, Beal, Dinwiddie, etc.). Ultimately, I think the Jazz would like to initiate from a multi-skilled wing or wing-sized guard. Or maybe the Jazz would play a style that doesn't require a pure PG.

I agree that Keyonte is not a natural facilitating/initiating PG. I like Keyonte, but the problem with him being a combo guard is that there has to be another good facilitator on the team. If that is someone like Collier, then you have too small of a backcourt. I predict that there will at some point, perhaps as early as before the end of this season, be a PG controversy in Utah.

I think the Jazz will do what the Celtics have done, and that's initiate through their best player on the wing. The Celtics scrapped the idea of a true PG in favor of letting Tatum handle and share the ball with Jrue Holiday and Derrick White. Tatum can do this because he's currently the Celtics' best advantage creator.

Watched the Jazz-Mavs game. I thought the standouts were Markkanen and Kessler, and thought Hendricks had good moments on D, while Collier showed nice passing. Kessler looks pretty much the same but maybe the added strength helped him to be more physical and get to some rebounds. I thought he showed good physicality in this game. George and Clarkson had some moments, Williams was almost invisible.

A big positive from last night's game is that Collier actually looked like a PG..... Although his shot was still shaky.....

Once he develops a floater, he will look a lot better. He is learning that guys in the NBA are a lot bigger, longer and faster than he has played against in the past and he is going to have to adjust his game. He also rushes everything right now.

I do love how he breaks the paint and passes, though. He is a natural passer with great vision and anticipation.

Game against Spurs is being actually fun to watch.

Weird line-ups working surprisingly fine.
Can't tell about main rotation yet but I'm about to say Utah Jazz might display Best NBA Third Unit.

I thought Kessler, Williams and Flip were good. Overall, I think Kessler is looking pretty good so far. Sexton was decent, Hendricks was not very good and Collier must have pissed Hardy off with his turnovers because he was benched in the beginning of the second quarter and never saw the floor again.

There were a lot of bad shots and individual/selfish plays that didn't end well for Jazz players in this game. Maybe it's because a lot of players still need to be familiarized with the system.

Collier strained a hamstring, that's why he didn't return.......

There should be a drinking game based on how many times the Jazz announcers say the word "pups" during a broadcast........

Or misstate the phrase, "Pups can't raise pups."

Geroge and Kessler looked good. Markkanen needs to work on his post-up and iso game. I think Kessler has looked really good so far. Hendricks had some moments but was 'meh' overall. I really want to see Flip get extended minutes.

I think Hendricks is showing steady progress, he's doing things he never would have even tried last season......

He's not horrible or anything, he's just kinda ok. Sometimes. He's not wowing me just yet.

I agree with some of that sentiment, i was hoping for more progress, but I'm seeing things that are making me hopeful about his development.......

The first quarter against the Blazers was enjoyable but after that it turned into a train wreck. Can't really point to anyone who played particularly well, maybe other than Flip who I think is a sleeper. He is way too skilled to be sitting on the bench and getting DNPs, I think he might turn into a pleasant surprise for the Jazz this season.

Jazz aren't fooling around this time. They're going straight after a top pick in this Cooper Flagg draft.

Lauri Markkanen says he was approached by Netflix to be one of the players in Starting 5. He declined.

But he was approached by another TV production too, and this one he accepted: Pikku Kakkonen, a Finnish kids program that has been running for 47 years. He has done four 4 minute episodes of "Lauri's ball tips", to be released next sunday.

His paycheck? Nothing.
From the basketball's perspective, travel is a nice pause from being pounded to the floor.
