Re: Around the NBA, Season 2017-2018
Whiteside is complete and utter trash. And I don't mean that as he's alright... not bad, but not great either... I mean absolute waste of a roster spot right now. I would play Bam 40 minutes a game before I put Whiteside on the floor right now. I can't believe there are still people who think Whiteside even belongs in the same sentence as Gobert.

Re: Around the NBA, Season 2017-2018
Before round one of the playoffs started, Steph Curry said he was targeting a return for round two of the playoffs, but nobody anticipated sweeps by both GS and NO. Both teams can close out round one this weekend, setting up a very early start for round two. I am not sure Curry will be ready for an early round two start.
We will get an update on Curry's status tomorrow. If the Curry update indicates he will not be ready for an early round two start and NO sweeps POR tomorrow, maybe GS should consider tanking game four in San Antonio.
I would bet on NO to win games against GS if Curry isn't in the lineup.

AD is going to give the Warriors problems just like he is with the Warriors. I think the Warriors have the series. But I hope the Pels win. I want ot see anyone besides the Warriors and Cavs win.

It's amazing how PHX chose the 2 worst PGs from their plethora of PGs from several years ago. IT and Dragic went on to become all-stars in their new teams, while PHX has been trash with Knight and Beldsoe being injured/bad

I'd take Bledsoe over IT any day, including last year. But point taken. Phoenix has got issues.

That would make 7 out of their last 8 games ending in losses. Ofcourse we lost to them in such a crucial game lol. They get HCA, and do NOTHING with it, we still won on the road. The irony.
That loss still pisses me off. Especially with how much the Blazers have been a disaster. They don't deserve that 3rd seed. Obviously .
It only took Utah 2 games to take HCA back against OKC. The whole 3rd seed/5th seed this year was really insignificant.
I'd rather be 1-1 going back to Utah than the other way around. Utah may very well lose one on their home court, but this Jazz team has no problem winning road games, so there shouldn't be a huge concern. They won a game 7 last year on the road and are very capable of doing it again if need be.
Of all their losses in the 2nd half of the season, it was the loss to Boston that still pisses me off.
New York said Mitchell wasn't the guy you trade the sink for, then they traded it for Mikal, lol.

Well personally I rather meet GS in the 2nd round than Houston. No matter when Curry returns, he's not going to be at full form in the 2nd round, and if you can play them their first 2 games without Curry, obviously it helps you get a road win that much easier. I do agree that we are a great road team (well became one), so to me this wasn't so much about HCA, as I fully expected to pass the first round, and knew come 2nd round we'd be facing GS/HOU and would not have HCA. So yeah to me, I was focused on which is the better matchup for us.

Yes they are doing it again. June 25th is the show.

I see George Hill is giving a similar playoff performance for the Cavs as he did for the Jazz: sitting on the bench in a suit. Anyone know what's wrong with him?

Kyle Korver is still one of my favorite players to watch. His footwork is incredible. I would love to have him in Utah to teach Donovan how to square up on the move.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

I'm just tickled the Jazz went with Ricky over the Hill with Hill. Hill cashed in on Quin and his coaching staff letting him run the team. I'm glad Gordon Hayward went another way. Never sold on him being anything other that a Robin. Robin getting Batman money would'v be horrible for this team. Now in three more year? i can see this Mitchell kid being worth it. I remember Hill missing games when jazz went on the beat the clippers. Hope we can put Chris P out again this year.

Then best of seven with the Warriors? Oh My.
Hill was gone no matter what when we traded for Ricky but this team would be downright scary with Hayward and Mitchell leading the way. It sucks because I hate the way he left but his game is the ideal fit for this roster with him doing everything well but also be unselfish and not overly ball dominant. I think we all remember what Hayward turned into in last year's playoffs and it was pretty special.

I agree, but I also am really happy we aren't locked in paying him 30+ million a year to be our third best player.

Hayward is good. Not great and Hayward would'v slowed Mitchell down being hear. Mitchell's and Rudy's team. 30 million plus would be a poison pill and would've killed us. I feel we got lucky in many ways. Hill Hayward gone and drafting DM and getting Ricky. Win Win Win.

Would Tony Parker as our second/third PG next season be worth 3-5 million? Just a thought. He wouldn't want to go to losing team if he leaves the Spurs. We run a similar system. He would have to know DL and Quin. He could provide a lot of veteran leadership and keep the second unit flowing. It's just a thought.

I'd much rather have Neto than old Tony Parker.
