Especially if Danny believes Miami is tampering with Donovan.

Isn't that why we only had 58 picks in this years draft? Tampering?

Yes

I think Danny will push a deal with Nets Suns before letting the Heat get Mitchell?

Probably, Durant is only worth Mitchell, Bridges, and a 1st, Utah could bank on multiple 1sts.

I don't think we get Durant, but I bet we are part of the facilitation of someone getting Durant:

Something Like:

GSW get Durant, Vanderbilt
Utah get (players from team taking Simmons), Wiggins, Kuminga
Brooklyn gets Mitchell, Conley, Beverly, Wiseman, Gay
Another team: Simmons

Brooklyn can't have both Mitchell and Simmons because of their rookie max extensions and both would be traded to them. They can only have 1 so they move Simmons for Mitchell who is guaranteed to play. Instead of us taking Simmons he gets routed to another team for players unless we know he will play for us then we could take him, but really risky. I would love to have Simmons from a couple years ago, but I am a little gun shy with the mental issues.

Obviously picks would have to be included as well. The majority coming from GSW, not sure how many it would take for Brooklyn to move where they would move Simmons contract.

Utah should be able to keep Vandy.

He’s the defensive PF the Bulls are looking for to compliment Vucevic. Not sure if there is a deal to be made, but the Bulls have Coby White & Portlands 1st as movable assets.

If Mitchell is involved going to Brooklyn to pay for KD. We sure as hell better be getting nearly every young asset the warriors have: Kuminga, Moody, Wiseman, Poole. Warriors picks with KD back to them aren't worth ****. Wiggins doesn't do anything for us, so he'd be rerouted elsewhere.

We are not trading MItchell for another great player....if we trade we trade for picks......there is no reason to go sideways.

I think there’s definitely a possibility you trade him for another realllly young good player. Barnes, Giddey, etc

Barnes and Giddey are a gap like Mitchell is to current low value Simmons

Sorry confused by this - are you saying there’s a gap between Barnes and Giddey?

Yes, a massive one. Barnes is a legitimate centerpiece to a superstar trade. The same can not be said for Giddey.

Ah gotcha! Yeah Barnes would be preferable but I wouldn’t be upset with Giddey, it’s all about what else you get with it to make up the gap.

Suns- KD
Nets- Mikal Bridges, two Jazz players (see below), 6 first rounders (4 Suns, 2 from Jazz)
Jazz- Ayton (S&T) and Cameron Johnson

Jazz give up 2 first round picks and either:
1) Conley and Dok; or
2) Bogey and NAW
(these are the combos I came up with using the Fanspro trade machine and with Ayton's next contract).

Ayton has some really bad recency bias, IMO, from that game 7 in the 2nd round this past year. He was a #1 overall pick, and would still be a top 4 if that class were redrafted. He is a top 6 center in the league. He was also a key part of the Suns run to the Championships a year ago and the best overall record this past year and a bad loss away from the WCF. How likely are the Jazz to draft someone like that even with all of their/TWolves picks?

Cameron Johnson could easily become a better than Bogey replacement as he can shoot as well as Bogey (he could easily score in the high teens if given the opportunity, IMO), is younger and plays better defense.

A lineup of: (Conley/Pat Bev), Mitchell, Cam Johson, (Bogey/Vanderbilt), Ayton is probably a playoff team, and a more balanced team than we have had. Use the picks for opportunistic trades and/or to build up the roster over time. If it doesn't work out and Mitchell wants out, then you have the option of trading him not just for picks, but also a replacement player(s).
