Orlando build around Mitchell, Banchero, Wagner, and Isaac.

Utah hits the reset button with plenty of young players and still signs Ayton. Anthony/Butler-Suggs-Beasley-Vanderbilt-Ayton, we suck this season but get a top 3 pick and we are set for the future.

Picks 5/7 years down the line along with 3 guards that were meh last year and Ross expiring. Fire Ainge immediately, wouldn't trade Don to Orlando without Wagner and 4/5 firsts coming back.

That is truly awful, scraps and picks when they will be late when you have a roster full of talent you could use to make the deal somewhat fair.

I think my ideal Donovan trade package would be to the Knicks for Barrett, Toppin, Fouriner and 1sts in 2024/2026/2028

Surely you gotta think the Knicks would want Spida to play along with RJ instead of for RJ. Not saying there is fair value deal without him, but its a self-defeating trade for the knicks

The Knicks reportedly are hesitant to give him a big extension and he's set to hit RFA next summer. The appeal of adding someone like Don would be that you could potentially lure in another guy or two in free agency. If they trade for Donovan while keeping RJ with an extension they'd be committing to Brunson/Mitchell/Barrett/Randle. As opposed to potentially going after another big fish.

Fair enough. I understand their hesitance. Im not sure I would want to hand him a max either

Considering Ainge's recent comments about big wings and how Boston took the next steps getting bigger with Smart at PG I think if he's trading Donovan that RJ Barrett is the type of asset that he'd covet coming back. I've seen the Heat mentioned a lot but Duncan, Herro, and 2023 1st/2028 1st isn't doing it for me. Especially with Duncan's deal and the fact that Herro is due for an extension.

I'd call the Spurs and offer...
Jazz receive: Jakob Poeltl, Josh Richardson
Spurs receive: Mike Conley, 2023 1st (via Minn), their choice of Kessler/Bolmaro/Udoka

The Spurs get Kessler who was the 22nd pick this year as another young piece to add during their rebuild and a solid veteran presence in Conley. Conley's due $22M this year and I believe $24M next year but can be waived (only GTD $14M) so they'd basically be getting 2 first round picks to take on his salary.

For the Jazz they'd get two expiring deals that would be instant starters so they could potentially be competitive this season but if things get off to a rocky start we'd have Bojan ($19M), Beverly ($13M), Beasley ($15M), Richardson ($12M), Poeltl ($9M), and NAW ($5M) on expiring deals that could be sold off at the trade deadline.

After that potential deal the Jazz would be left with:

PG - Mitchell | Beverly | Butler
SG - Beasley | Clarkson | NAW
SF - Richardson | Bolmaro
PF - Bogdanovic | Vanderbilt | Gay
C - Poeltl | Udoka

I'd also call to check the availability of:
Jaylen Brown
OG Anunoby
Andrew Wiggins
Keldon Johnson / Devin Vassell
Dillon Brooks
Gordon Hayward
Deni Avdija
Harrison Barnes
Jonathan Isaac
Darius Bazley

Only guys that make sense:

OG
Dillon
Ingles is cooked.

Keldon is on a rookie deal and took a massive leap. Isaac is the definition of buy low guy

I'd guess that Beal and Dame's deals drive up Don's value

Maybe its me projecting, but it just feels like the Jazz are waiting for the KD/Suns deal to finish things off or take the next step in free agency.

With rumors that the Pacers are interested in Ayton, and have the cap space to outright sign him, yet haven't made an offer yet, perhaps all parties would be interested in the following:

Pacers- Ayton (S&T), Jazz FRP
Nets- Mikal Bridges, Conley (or Bogey), NAW, Jazz FRP, 3-4 Suns FRPs, and at least one Suns pick swap.
Jazz- Cameron Johnson and Myles Turner

Why involve the Jazz?
If the Suns try to trade for KD on their own, they would have to give up Mikal Bridges, Cameron Johnson, Saric and at least 4 of their own FRPs as well as pick swaps. Involving the Jazz allows them to net keep Saric and one of their picks.

For the Pacers, if they sign and trade for Ayton (or outright sign him), then they need to trade Turner. Reports were that they wanted either 2 FRPs or 1 FRP and a young player in Feb at the trade deadline. They didn't get this, so maybe they are willing to accept just 1 FRP from the Jazz. If the Nets don't want NAW, send him to the Pacers if it makes things work.

I could get excited about having a young 2 way wing with size and upside in Cameron and a rim protecting/floor spacing big in Turner on the roster. They could be a playoff team and maybe just one player away from a contender. We would still have a largish contract in Conley or Bogey and picks to potentially make that happen at the trade deadline or before draft day in June.

We reportedly would ask for 8 firsts to move Donovan, lol

I don’t think the Knicks panicking part of the way through the year and giving up that amount is actually too outlandish a thought.

Ask for ten picks is like me asking for twice the value for my house. Someone hurting will always pay more at times. Get a deal like Gobert I'd be happy and hope jazz could land couple great picks and good player.

Kinda like Johnny buckets pick up and the two way deal. healthy the kid could find a spot in Utah.

Obviously Jakob isn't as good on defense as Gobert but you'd be surprised to know he is also actually worse on offense.

(And unplayable in close games because he can't hit the side of a barn on free throws)

I know it's a downgrade but there really aren't just a ton of starting caliber centers on the market.

Poeltl has a legitimate hook/push shot though. No he's never going to be Gobert but in theory he should be able to punish teams that go small by being able to push shot over them
