Gradey Dick seems like a player Danny Ainge would draft.

Gradey Dick looks like he could be Danny Ainge's nephew. "Ainge-type" players in this draft would include Cam Whitmore, Cason Wallace, probably GG Jackson, maybe Jett Howard, and some other wings with two-way ability.

Howard can't defend well. I do like him, though. Not sure if he is better than Dick, though.

I'm going to try to do some player comps for players in this upcoming draft that I've watched a bit. The comps are not direct, but more a reflection of role, talent level and potential impact in the league.

Wembanyama -- No idea. There's no point even talking about Porzingis.
Henderson -- Derrick Rose/Donovan Mitchell
Amen. Thompson -- Penny Hardaway without much of a jump shot/maybe some Grant Hill if we're being optimistic
Cam Whitmore -- Jaylen Brown/Jimmy Butler
GG Jackson -- Pascal Siakam with a tighter handle and a bit more vertical explosiveness / a more aggressive Jeff Green
Nick Smith -- Jet Terry / slightly bigger Nick Van Exel
Ausur Thompson -- Some legit TMac potential / Paul George if his shot really solidifies, but it has a ways to go
Jarace Walker -- Hawks version of Paul Millsap / maybe some Jimmy Butler here too
Brandon Miller -- Nic Batum
Keyonte George -- Jamal Murray with less bounce / Tyrese Maxey
Anthony Black -- Everyone says Josh Giddey and he kinda is, but he has a better first step and more explosiveness
Jett Howard -- Caris Levert with a bit of Gordon Hayward's playmaking / Tyler Herro
Gradey Dick -- He's the most Kyle Korver prospect we've seen in a while

More on Jett Howard. I would probably take him ahead of Cason Wallace and Gradey Dick in the late lottery or mid-teens at this stage. His shooting splits are lining up well with Klay Thompson's (other than at the FT line).

GG Jackson at #8 and Jett Howard at #12 would be a great draft for the Jazz.

He needs to learn how to defend, but he's capable of it. His playmaking and self-creating give him a nod over Gradey, imo.

I don’t know if I would draft GG with Kessler, I’d rather draft high end wings, that has always proven to be the Jazz’s weakness since Stockton and Malone.
Ingles is cooked.

GG projects to be a big scoring wing with some self-creation. Think Siakam. Jazz need guys who can create advantages for themselves and others. Right now, they've basically got Conley running simple sets and Clarkson freelancing. They don't really have a solid triple-threat guy other than Clarkson.

If the Jazz can come out of the draft with Scoot or one of the Thompsons, that would be ideal. On the wing, they need more versatility.

That’s fair because I saw his NBA comp was Bam, and if that’s the case, I’d rather draft someone else but if he can shoot then we should get him.

I think he wants to be a guy like Jayson Tatum. He's got more handle and scoring off the dribble than Bam. If he grew to 6'10" or so, then you'd start to think of him just overpowering guys like Bam or even Giannis a bit.

That’s exciting, Tony Jones said he could be one of the best players in the draft.

He's not going to be a wing (just like Siakam isn't), but Lauri is versatile enough that we have the luxury of going BPA. The only center that would be able to displace Kessler is Wemby, but I think he might even be able to play power forward and we could have a bizzarro frontcourt of Lauri-Wemby-Kessler.

No, he's a power forward (and to add, I think pretty position-locked there, not necessarily in a bad way - e.g. Paolo and Siakam are very valuable players).

Right now we are sitting at 12, 16, and 27.

My picks for guys I think will be available (some won't some will):

12. Jett Howard, Nick Smith Jr., Jarrace Walker, Dariq Whitehead
16. Dariq Whitehead, Maxwell Lewis, Brice Sensabaugh, Taylor Hendricks
27. Jalen Wilson, Sidy Cissoko, Jordan Hawkins, Nikola Durisic

It's a wing draft. Grab a ton of them and see who works out, unless the value proposition at a pick is just insane. e.g. some mocks have Anthony Black at 12 - I really don't care what guys are there at 12 if he is, I take him. Smith I think will drop because of injury concerns, and at the tail end of the lottery I absolutely roll the dice there, etc.

I'm curious to know what people think the draft tiers will be this year.

I haven't looked too closely at the draft, but I could see something along the lines of:
Tier 1A
1. VW
Tier 1B
2. Scoot Henderson
Tier 2
3. Amen Thompson
4. Brandon Miller
5. Ausar Thompson (maybe)
6. Whitmore
7. Nick Smith Jr (maybe, depending on injury)
(not necessarily in the above order for Tier 2)
Tier 3
could be as large as 7th or 8th pick all the way to 15th pick with the mocks I've seen.

I'd consider taking a swing on Emoni Bates at #27 if he's there. I don't know much about his off-court stuff though.
