The only way we can tank hard is if Hendricks and Keyonte are just awful this year.

Which they probably will be, but you have to have very little belief in Keyonte or Hendricks at all to think this team can tank that well. Players that eventually become good aren't just catastrophically bad their 2nd seasons.

Like, the Jazz's starting lineup next year should be

Keyonte
Sexton
Hendricks
Markkanen
Kessler

If Keyonte and Hendricks are NBA caliber... This team is fine?

I have no belief whatsoever in Keyonte or Hendricks, but if you think they're future building blocks, you should expect them to be NBA caliber this year.

I'm hearing Kessler will be our starting center next year. Part of me has a funny feeling Cody williams might become our starting SF some time next year. Then you'll see Hendricks with John C at center off the bench with Flip cutting into minutes from both those guys.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Luka Samanic will not be back with the Jazz. Signed with Fenerbahçe.

Keith Smith: In order to create the cap space to renegotiation-and-extend Lauri Markkanen, the Utah Jazz renounced the free agents Talen Horton-Tucker and Kira Lewis Jr., a league source told @spotrac

Well, it is clear we want to lose. These are the most underwhelming signings I've ever seen.

I would have preferred we signed him to a regular contract instead of Eubanks. I think he's an NBA player.

Hopefully there are team options in that contract.

Signing Svi and Eubanks instead of gambling on someone in the G-League or overseas feels like a waste. We know these guys are 0s.

At least you can say the guaranteed money come from LM taking less than a max.
That's about all the positive right now.

Not really...... Unless you're saying Laurie's deal was contingent on Jazz signing Svi.........

The Jazz needed to hit the salary floor. They signed a guy with only one guaranteed year who isn't very good and will help with the tank, and we don't even know how much he'll play (probably not a lot).

The Jazz were well above the salary floor before this signing.

It's a minor move, but it's another zero upside, set a roster slot on fire move from an offseason with basically no moves with upside.

It’s a roster spot for potentially Jazz receiving a salary dump.

... No? The exact opposite?

It's eliminating a roster slot for the Jazz to take a salary dump without waiving the player instantly (basically eliminating any salary dumps of players with multi year deals)

The deadline… It’s a good contract for a salary dump.

Back of my mine this is Danny giving some agent few bones signing one of his guys and next time they set down to talk turkey this agent will be more likely to sell the player and what the jazz can offer. Not a Os but more like a hellO!
