In fact I feel it is the opposite. Going to LA would give him a sustained chance to beat the warriors and there roster is great to go against them. Especially if Paul Goerge goes there as well. No one can tell me that a starting lineup of Ball, Paul George, Ingram, Kuzma and LeBron isn't the perfect fit to compete against the warriors. That lineup is long as hell and can switch on everything without the warriors creating a massive mismatch and offensively the spacing would be amazing. Give me that lineup over LeBron with the rockets any day.

Ball, Ingram and Kuzma are promising young players but they're not really knock-down shooters.
Lakers were not one of the best 3-point shooting teams and actually their leader, at least with number of attempts accounted for, was probably KCP, whom they're probably not going to re-sign.
Now these young players may all improve, if they're standing around and catching and shooting while Lebron is dominating the ball.
I don't know if the Lakers would try to play the same way as the Cavs if Lebron went there. With Walton in charge, they're trying to emulate the Warriors a bit with movement and pace.
But if Lebron wants to dominate the ball, that means the other players will see their numbers go down and players like Kuzma and Ingram may be little more than younger, more athletic Kyle Korvers.
The Cavs actually have good outside shooting. Lebron made sure of that. Just that those shooters, including Frye when he was there, could only shoot, not defend that well.
Young Lakers would defend better but they may or may not be better shooters.
