He and AB are my favorite Jazz players ever. I'm a curse :-?

Let me thank you personally that Gobert isn't one, so you don't extend your bad mojo onto him.

You are not alone... AB and Dante are my guys too... I think them being injured has something to do with it. Something about unrealized potential without any fault of their own.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

ESPN is out with their top 100 player rankings for the 2019-20 season, numbers 100 to 51 so far. Here's Joe:

62. Joe Ingles
Image
Utah Jazz I SF, Previous rank: 53, Projected RPM wins: 4.4

Lowe on Ingles' moves: Ingles keeps help defenders guessing until the very last second. He has a fake for every part of his body -- eye fakes, pump fakes and the meanest pass fake since Manu Ginobili was spinning big guys around like tops. It wouldn't surprise me if Ingles has some sort of nose fake we don't know about.

I don't see Bojan named yet, so we are going to have four top 50 players in the ESPN rankings, plus utility man Ingles at #62. Sounds good on paper! If our guys come together to play good team ball and DM makes a bit of a third year jump, a couple of big "ifs", the Jazz will make some serious noise in the West this season. Go Jazz!

I wouldn't be surprised if Bojan is outside of the top 100. ESPN's own metric RPM doesn't like him very much and if their pundits are paying much attention to it, it's very possible he's not going to be in the top 50.

I'm still unsure of Bojan's value myself. But I don't think he's a better player than Ingles.

Oops. After Sports Illustrated ranked Bojan #52 a week ago, I didn't think about considering the non top 100 category for him, but ESPN didn't have Bojan in the top 100 last season. You may be right.

I tend to doubt Bojan is going to be a more valuable player for us than Ingles, but sometimes the media overranks ppg compared to other stats. Sports Illustrated had Ingles ranked at #65 and Bojan at #52. If Bojan does turn out to be more valuable for us than Ingles, that would be great!

Bojan cracks the ESPN Top 50! The Jazz are going to have four top 50 players and three top thirty players! NBA title here we come! (I wish. :D )

48. Bojan Bogdanovic
Image
Utah Jazz I SF, Previous rank:NR, Projected RPM wins: -0.3

Kevin Pelton on Bogdanovic in Utah: Bogdanovic could be a great fit in the Utah frontcourt next to Rudy Gobert. At 6-foot-8 and a listed 216 pounds, Bogdanovic is relatively similar in size to former Jazz small-ball 4 option Jae Crowder (6-foot-6, 235 pounds). Sliding him down from the wing to the power forward not only gives Bogdanovic a quickness advantage in most matchups, but also makes his shooting ability even more dangerous.

Good news! We're still improving. We've got three top 25 players.

24. Mike Conley
Image
Utah Jazz I PG, Previous rank: 44, Projected RPM wins: 3.8

One big question: Will Conley be able to lift Utah into title contention this season? That was the assumption by many when Conley was dealt to Utah. It's a lot to put on a point guard who will be 32 years old when the season starts, but with Conley (and Bojan Bogdanovic), Utah could make some noise in the West. -- Andrew Lopez

And two top 20 players. If Mitchell lives up to being the #20 best player in the NBA, I will be very happy!

20. Donovan Mitchell
Image
Utah Jazz I SG, Previous rank: 22, Projected RPM wins: 7.7

One big question: Can Mitchell tap into his quick feet and 6-foot-10 wingspan to find some defensive consistency? Touted for his defensive potential when he entered the league, he's still evolving as an on- and off-ball defender. Last season, he ranked 204th overall in ESPN's defensive real plus-minus. That and how he meshes with Mike Conley are worth tracking. -- Mike Schmitz

30 Teams in 30 Days: Mike Conley, Bojan Bogdanovic could elevate Jazz
https://www.nba.com/30teams30days/2019/UTA

Snip: Rather than remain complacent with a 50-win team, the Jazz made a few bold additions that shouldn’t disrupt any of their harmony or flow. If anything, Conley and Bogdanovic could be the missing pieces this team needs to travel a playoff round or two further next spring.

14. Rudy Gobert
Image
Utah Jazz I C, Previous rank: 23, Projected RPM wins: 2.7

One big question: Can Gobert add to his offensive game? The two-time Defensive Player of the Year is a weapon in a limited offensive role, leading the league in screen assists (6.0 per game), field goal percentage (.669) and dunks (306) in 2018-19. He'll never be a go-to post-up threat, but it'd be a major plus if Gobert could reliably punish smaller defenders on switches even when he doesn't get to the rim, as he did in France's win over Team USA at the FIBA World Cup. -- Tim MacMahon

Mmmh...

I'm amazed how optimistic are all of them.

Scares me.

I need to find my old bojan posts back when east coasters assumed he was a bum coming over.

The jazz and mitchell need the offensive firepower he will provide.

Hopefully if the jazz show they are contenders the fo will stay active to continue the push.

I remember you were a big proponent for the Jazz getting him before he signed with Indiana and I was more skeptical... You were right, he's turned himself into a very nice player.
