I doubt that Tomic will ever appear in a Jazz uniform.

next year we'll have Favors Kanter and Gobert under contract... i do like Tomic but he'll have few space here. Anyway he's an asset and if he wants to fight Utah could be the right place to start an nba career

Man where is all the Gobert love coming from? Last spring I hardly heard a kind word about him. It was like I was living in my own world. And now it is like everyone expects him to be the 3rd big off the bench next year.

I just saw Ante Tomic and Neto today. I actually agree with tanking this year, but next year I think the club should put the best roster together as possible. That does not include Gobert as the third big.

I'd enjoy Tomic on the club just to see the hype when he actually steps out in the summer league or pre-season. Because when you actually see his moves this board will anoint him the 2nd coming of Pau Gasol or something. And his passing skills and vision are night and day compared to kanter.

Neto looked like a decent draft and stash prospect. I'm unsure if he'll ever play a role for the Jazz or not.

Because the Jazz drafted him. A lot of people on this board greatly overhype all young players we get. He has done nothing special since coming here and there are many d-leaguers that can easily out perform him.

Gobert was a wasted picked and likely won't be in the league past his rookie contract.

Wrong. He looked promising in SL and had a good pre-season game. He is way underweight and just needs the time to develop.

When I watched Satoransky with Cajasol I also saw Kristaps Porzingis get major minutes and he looked rather promising. Kanter and Favors are already well on their way. What would impress me is Karl Malone bulking up and toughening up guys like Gobert. Gobert has "gobs' of talent. He just gets pushed around.

If the Jazz can draft Porzingis and Larsen as teenagers and use Karl Malone to man them up... then that is exactly how Malone can help this team. Get Parker in next summer and slowly develop him into a monster at 6'8 250.

Don't gush over Gobert. Don't dump on Gobert. Give the guy a chance to develop.

I don't see how he's a wasted pick. He already makes an impact with his length and is 5x the player that Hasheem Thabeet ever was.

EDIT: still has a long way to go, though. I just think that he is already showing some promising signs.

some people think every pick that isn't Michael Jordan 3 games into their rookie year is a wasted pick apparently...

As for Tomic, I've only seen him 4 or 5 times in the last two years, but every time I've been impressed. He's a legitimate NBA player, a lot further along than Gobert.

Kaun and Tomic go head to head on the 8th. Determines the best 5 not in the NBA. Either one would be great on the club next year... you know... when the Jazz are actually trying to win.
