And Russell very well might rather play there...
Someone explain to me why I'm a fan of this team? I should just bandwagon to winning teams. Just wish I knew how to quit the Jazz.

I really hope we buy a Philly pick. Good prospects sliding hard.

I mean... we are a winning team. Just not a championship team.

I'm worried we are a playoff team for this year and then we will see all these younger teams pass us and we are lottery bound for a long time.stitches wrote:Rauxcee wrote:stitches wrote:PHX are just horrible.

Oh I know. Honestly, I would rather be a winning "treadmill" team that makes the playoffs than be one of the worst teams for 5+ years.
Once the season is looming I'll be excited again.

I think Gobert + Mitchell give us a certain floor we cannot get below as long as they are healthy. The big question is what happens if for example the worst case scenario happens - Conley opts out and leaves in 2020, Gobert gets pissed off by inability to build a championship team and leaves in 2021... we are left with Mitchell and owing MEM a pick in the double draft in 2022... this would be just the nightmare scenrio... this might send us into a spiral into lottery hell for a while.sipclip wrote:I'm worried we are a playoff team for this year and then we will see all these younger teams pass us and we are lottery bound for a long time.stitches wrote:Rauxcee wrote:

The problem is the playoffs are fun when you feel like your team can continue to get better. This is the Dwill and Boozer version of the jazz with a ceiling that limits the excitement. This is a house of cards that is going to come crashing down I a few years.Rauxcee wrote:stitches wrote:I mean... we are a winning team. Just not a championship team.

I like both of those along with Kapala and Schofield...

This is my nightmare. Honestly if this happens, we're going to end up losing Mitchell so in that scenario the Jazz should trade him (before Mitchell asks for one and his value depreciates because of it). They should be able to get a decent return to salvage the situation a little. They do have that as a contingency plan if the worst happens.
