Supposedly Boston is in the mix for #4. Not gonna lie...I would smile if Hayward was traded for the #4 pick. With Tatum and Brown on the team they could realistically trade Hayward away and be able to pay Parsons while still being really good.

Heard they were trying to give up future picks and hoping another team would take on parsons using the future pick.

They have to match salaries though. And Memphis is going to want a player who can contribute right away. It checks all the boxes. Memphis clearly wants to get their team in a spot it's lucrative to sell. That's my thought at least.

I agree, Danny isn’t going to be able to make any snake oil moves.

I fully expected that. Absolutely no reason to keep him. Develop young talent and get a better pick.

Awesome but still weird. He needs rest. He hasn't had any rest in the last 18 months.

Re: Around the NBA, Season 2017-2018
And then Carmelo, unsurprisingly, (doh!) opts in to his $27.8 M player option for next year. I don't think he cares whether PG or Westbrook is there to start the season, he is getting bank like he is a max all-star. When he is a FA after next season I'd be surprised if he competes for the MLE as a "veteran presence" on a good team. The Jazz don't have a single player on the roster remotely making that kind of money, opting in or out either way. I think this draft, this coming season, etc., is going to be a learning moment for the league and owners. The fiscal conservatism and youth movement was a smart move by the Jazz FO while other franchises hobbled themselves with some really, really, bad contracts thinking somehow every star in LeBron's age range would defy reality like he did.

I'm curious how long the Magic will role with Bamba, Isaac, and Gordon. I'd think eventually they would trade one of Gordon or Isaac.
(I know Gordon is a RFA, I doubt the Magic let him walk)

Re: Around the NBA, Season 2017-2018
After Igor went to PHX I've been watching some interviews and press-conferences by their GM Ryan McDonough and boy am I unimpressed. He looks and sounds completely out of his depth. Makes you appreciate DL.
They also seem to be forcing Sean Miller on Igor. They said they will bring in Miller in their training camp and coaches meetings to help them with coaching Ayton. LOL. This is ridiculous. I feel bad for Igor.
Bad ownership, bad management... eh... I have no trust at all that they will let Igor do his job uninterrupted.

With Igor there i see a team that could push to be in the playoffs. But we'll see if they trust Igor and let him really run the show.

With Igor there and them having a fantastic draft I think I’ll be watching a few games this season. I’m genuinely curious to see how similar Igor’s offense and defense is to Quin’s.

Similar but with more speed up and down the court.I don't think Igor will be yelling at his players to slow down the offense.
Another thing ,I've seen two mentions in Az articles that Exum would look good on Phoenix and that to get him you might have to overpay him alittle but would be worth the gamble if he took over their PG position. They have a PG need on the Suns with Knight coming back from an ACL .Ulis too short and the drafted PG not really a PG.

There's a big faction of realgm Orlando fans that don't think Gordon is worth a max contract. They saw him gunning and missing and not sharing the ball or making his team mates better. I'm not sure how Exum,1st and "stuff" works for Gordon but Orlando needs a PG ,DJ Augustin and Shane Mack are the PG's right now.
Not trying to move Exum but as FA gets ready ,you start to look who might come after Exum and Favors.

If Igor likes him then they might make a move. I picked the Suns as the team to go after Favs and Neto a few months ago.

Marshmallow Anthony opting in for the last year of his albatross contract was great news for The Thunder.
