The Day After....rumors?

I was talking to my brother, who lives in SLC, and is the one who fills me in with what's going on with the Jazz locally. He told me that today there was a lot of frustration about last night's game in the local sport radio shows. However, he also told me that supposedly there were some rumors today regarding both AK and Boozer.

Supposedly, Okur was interviewed today and he said that he was not 100% yesterday, but because of the importance of the game he decided to play regardless.

However, both AK and Boozer, who had been cleared by team doctors to play yesterday, both decided against playing yesterday and instead be ready to go for Saturday's game.

Lastly, supposedly there's another rumor out there that Deron went up to Boozer yesterday and asked him to play because of the importance of the game, however, Boozer said he would/could not.

Just wanted to know if anybody else has heard any of these things and whether there is any validity to them?

I don't think we have any way of knowing.

I'm just hoping both guys are healthy for the next game. We really need em. We can't get by with Kufos and Fes on the floor for important minutes.

Well I really hope both guys are good to go Saturday. I secretly hoped we'd meet Denver in the playoffs and I believe we'll beat them if we're healthy, and it will feel good to shut the rest of the league up.

I really don't care what happened or why Boozer sat out, as long as he is planning on being a beast in the playoffs like he was a couple of years ago. And with this being his best statistical season since then, I think it's likely...call me hopefully blind if you have to.

eff the thuggets.

He's really good to go saturday, but couldnt at least PRETEND like he wanted to go just 3 days before, where the game was more important and could have improved our chances practically guaranteeing a first round win and a much easier second round matchup??? Pu*sy.

Some teams did't play there best players the last couple days of the season because they had won games earlier in the year they should have. The Jazz didn't win 5 0r 6 games they should've in the regular season, so they had to have everybody good playing in the last game of the season, at home. So what happens, two of their starting 5 are on the bench! Is this coaching, management deficiencies? Or just maybe the coach not modeling how important all games are to a season. Okur played hurt-Williams, Milsap, Mathews, Gaines, GAines played with heart. Even Kufous tried!! Please! someone help the jazz to rid themselves of Boozer, Kirlinko, Korver, Price. and Fes!

So it is, so it is! $$ over glory!

Boozer and AK werent cleared to play, your friend is full of ****.

and to bozell: boozer didnt act like he wanted to play against the suns? his only quotes the night of the warriors game was im gonna be fine. Theres plenty of reports that had boozer testing how he felt and even after the media declared him out. He tried again right before the teams final warmups. That doesnt at the very least sound like a guy that wanted to play.?

I have some legit hookups that are close to the Jazz organization, I'll do some poking around this weekend and see what I can find out but I doubt there is any truth to what your friend said.

If Boozer and AK could go they would have gone. AK has been around this organization long enough to realize the importance of the game and I'm sure he would have loved to play in it if he could have.

AK-47 didnt play because he could not play. AK-47 actually loves to play basketball and would play 40 min per game if the coach allowed. Boozer simply cannot stand pain and has a low pain threshold. I use to hate him for it but he is who he is and we need to live with it. If management signs him in the off season, they better know that each season Boozer will miss a few games with a hang nail type injury but produce in the games he does play. With Boozer you got to decide if it is worth taking the bad with the good.

No, he could have at least dressed and given it a shot.....my only question is, with his statement that he is going to "play no matter what" on Saturday which obviously means injured or not, why did he not play no matter what on Wednesday which was a much bigger game??

^ Your assuming that based on some internet rumor, both guys were cleared to play on Wednesday night, which is something none of us can be 100% sure of. It's pretty ignorant to be calling out guys when you don't even know if they were cleared by Jazz medical staff to go play.

Umm... because Saturday is 72 hours after Wednesday and the human body requires time to heal?

AK out 2 weeks. His calf must have some sort of flesh eating virus or something, because THIS IS FREAKING RIDICULOUS!

This news about AK makes it even more aggravating that we didn't get that 3rd spot and play the ailing Blazers. It would have given us a chance at making the 2nd round with AK possibly returning.

Also, his trade value was on the rise this season, and is now down low again I would think.

So what?? With him telling ESPN that he will play no matter what, that means if it doesnt heal at all he is going to play....so why was he not willing to play Wednesday?

Just because they are cleared doesn't mean that they are 100%.

I dont think anybody is claiming that theyre 100%.....we're just claiming that theyre a couple of pus*ies for not playing through some pain.

Yep.

Word is that memos injuries are worse than boozers and memo still played. There was also a tweet from SLT that said memo would be out at least 3 weeks.... if it wasn't the playoffs.
