Kobe's game

Post#1 » by nghedman » Wed May 5, 2010 3:31 pm

Kobe is awesome, I love his game....until he plays the Jazz.

I have one grip that he should be called on much more often. Especially after his complaining of people kicking there feet out after a shot to draw the foul. Kobe should be called for a foul the way he gets defenders off of himself for a shoot. Every time he gets the ball and he starts with a stand still he puts his shoulder down and pushes the defender off. It wouldn't be a foul (in my opinion) if he didn't lower his shoulder the way he does but it is so obviously offensively instigated, and he is lowering his shoulder to the opponent, and he is playing the player and not trying to get a new spot on the floor. Drives me nuts and I'm sure this is a big reason why he has become such a great finisher because of this advantage he has learned to get space for his shot and has gotten away with.

This, and elbows to clear the opponents when getting a rebound are in the same area of concern and Malone got a boat load of mouth about that until he stopped doing it. VERY SIMILAR style here as what Kobe is doing.

Am I off here or does anyone else see this? What do you all think?

Kobe gets calls like every other superstar. DWILL gets calls as well. Lebron gets calls as well. Do I like it? NO, but thats the way it is going to be bc refs are human. Players have too much power!!!

BUT

The Jazz are not losing this series bc of refs or Kobe calls. Get a rebound Boozer, Millsap, and Fess!!! Play D once in awhile!!! DWILL play like a consistent superstar!!! Add key players to fill holes like Marcus Camby KOC!!! Be willing to change your system such as pushing the ball more with a small lineup Mr. Sloan!!!

There is plently of fault to go around!!!
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

True, plenty of areas of focus for 2-5 additionally possession would have changed the outcome of the game. And as much as people don't want to admit it referees can and do account for many more possessions on calls that can go either way. True they are human and I accept their calls.

And by the way, Deron does NOT get superstar calls...... yet. That is getting the benefit of the doubt on 50/50 calls. But from your replay... let me also note that if I was complaining about the refs I would have added that many times when Boozer and Milsap missed on something inside (rebound, shot,lay-up etc) they got hit across the arm or on the hand (D-Will) and nothing was called. And that would have accounted for about 5 possession right there.
(Jazz faults: rebounds, free throws, rotation defense, missed shots)

I really chalk it up to home court crowd advantage and not superstars by the way too. The Jazz should get all the other calls they didn't last night when they get back to EAS.

Not to change the direction of the thread I was really wanting to focus on Kobe's game style and what your thoughts were specifically on that cheap move he does along with his other moves in his game style.

I agree. I really am a fan of Kobe's game. Its hard to watch us play against the lakers, because I want them to lose, but some of the shots/moves kobe makes are awesome.

W.E you need to bring Kobe Down. Kobe was shooting pretty bad towards the end of the season. People were saying he's old, his game is regressing fast. But dude has plenty in the tank still. He's still one of my favorite ballers. In regards to getting "Superstar calls". NO ONE..Repeat..NO ONE gets more than Lebron. Lebron runs down the court like a fu*king Train lol and then Dips his shoulders. It works. Bottom line is, everyone gets calls. But i think your thinking to much into Kobes game since he's killing yall right now.
