This isn't even a debate.

They are both PGs. And all-stars. And NBA players.
I guess.

Don't let it get you butt hurt Rose is a great player. He has a chance to be right there with DWill a Paul as best point guards in the league.
Rose's game is very different from Deron's tho.

Not close, but if Rose develops his long range game, he'll definitely be in the conversation in 2-3 years...Don't see what the fuss is about.

Rose is amazing. No as good as Deron YET. But Deron is the number one pg right now.

I remember a while back when Shaq Bitch slapped Ostertag before a game. If Koufus did that to Kobe and yelled Boom Bitch, I would forever be a Koufus fan no matter how bad he sucks.

Rondo better than Rose? Really? Rondo is a terrible shooter, and Rose completely destroyed Rondo when they played this year. On top of that, Rondo plays with 3 HOFers, who does Rose have Noah and Deng? DWill is the best in the game right now, but after him, it's really just opinion and bias on who is number 2.

That might be why you had to start a new thread on it.

He was compared to Deron by some people before the draft, I didn't know the comparison still existed.

Rose is hella athletic and is a beast driving. I don't see how he's like Deron. Rose is more of a shoot-first, a #1 option sort of dude. Don't see him getting close to 10apg

of course he could be a 10apg. All you gotta do is find him the right pieces. He really doesn't have much to work with on the Chicago roster. If you were to ask me who is the better pg last year.. No way i'd say Deron williams. I prolly would have said Chis Paul. But Paul's been out, and Deron looks spectacular. My fav now...meh..prolly Rose. For a second year player he looks damn good. He just needs help.

You're comparing two players in two different systems. If you put Deron in a running and scoring system, like the Suns for example, I think you would find more similarities in the two guards. This is one reason why I think there is big chance Williams will highly consider leaving the Jazz. If he had a dominant power forward in Amare, for example, and reliable shooters, I think he would flourish even more than he has and stand out as the best point guard in the league rather than pop up in debatable conversations like this. Just saying. I hope he doesn't go, but there are going to be some persuasive GMs knocking at his door.

I think the comparison stems from the fact that they are big, physical point guards. That is about where the similarities stop though. I think that both are great players, but I'd much rather have Deron.

Bad comparison. Rose is super athletic and Williams isn't. Rose will be far better in the long run ... and would certainly be much more helpful against the Lakers right now. Also, Rose plays defense much more actively than Williams.

I don't know about that. Rose is super athletic and if he relies on that his career will be much shorter than Williams' who relies on hesitation moves and his jump shot. I wish Williams would get more tenacious on D and he has the ability, just look at him when he's switched on to Kobe. He plays great D. Rose is going to be a great player but I see Williams as the more complete package.

Rose is very athletic, but there's traditionally been very little correlation between athleticism and being a top-shelf PG in the NBA.
