Assuming the Jazz cannot win 4 in a row versus the Lakers, where do the Jazz go from here?
DWILL is cemented at PG and I think you can live with Matthews at SG and Miles at SF. Miles has grown up in the playoffs. Millsap will be the PF and OKUR/KOSTA are the week centers.
Boozer is gone to Chicago or Miami as I just cant see the Jazz paying him 12-14 million per year due to insuffuciencies in his game especially defensively plus he is injury prone and ineffective versus the Lakers a team you need to beat to get to the championship.
Jazz will try to trade AK-47 but I dont see a team with significant salary cap space trading a away a cheaper talented player to take one AK-47's contract when they can sign a better player at a cheaper price in free agency. I see AK-47 playing out the year with the Jazz as a 6th man. He may then resign a 3-4 year contract at a more reaosnable price or go back to Russia.
Korver might be resigned but i think a team like the Knicks will offer him more money than the Jazz would pay plus he has alot of holes in his game.
Jazz #1 pick looking like 9th pick likely will be a PF or possible a center who will need alot of seasoning before they make a big impact, I predict Monroe or Ed Davis.
Jazz 2010-2011 Team (Playoffs probably but not guaranteed)
PG Williams Price Gaines
SG Matthews Price second round pick
C Memo Kosta Fess? Add veteran like Collins
PF Millsap AK-47 Monroe/#1 pick
SF Miles AK-47
Not a title contender at all but a team that will work hard. Developing Kosta and the Jazz #1 pick this year will be of the utmost importance for next years team.

Re: Jazz future???
Unless the Jazz are playing incredible ball and AK is a huge part of that, he will be traded by the deadline. Expiring contracts hold an immense amount of value. Especially considering the possibility of a lockout and teams that will be clearing large amounts of cap to try and sign free agents. Everyone seems to be forgetting that there are high profile free agents next year as well. I wouldn't be surprised at all if AK ends up on the Nets.
That being said, I don't mind Millsap starting at PF. However, if he does then we have to go out and sign a guy who can fill up the bucket. Millsap can score but I don't think this team can successfully and consistently win with him as our go to guy. Unless C.J. makes as big of strides over the summer as he did through the playoffs this year, we will need a go to guy.

Re: Jazz future???
That is probably the worst case scenario. Not terribly unlikely though.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Korver will stay. He has said he likes it here and I'd imagine he'd take a paycut if the FO needed him to.

Re: Jazz future???
I think we won't be able to truly compete until Okur's contract expires and we can sign a free agent. We could maybe get something trading AK, but we would have to take on salary to get anything good, and I doubt the front office does anything seriously risky, given they prob want to resign AK for something more reasonable.
I wish we could sign and trade boozer, or even keep him, but without that I think we have at least a couple of years before we add another scorer or defensive minded big, that we need to be in contention.
I really wish we could trade up to like #6, and pray wesley johnson falls. Him + trade / sign in FA a big man = contention.

Re: Jazz future???
Jazz will never truly contend for a title untill the NBA puts a Hard cap in place.
You cant beat the big spenders like Lakers, Cleveland, Boston with lesser talent.
I am so glad i didnt waste money on the League Pass this year.
doing the same thing year after year and expecting different results is stupid.

The jazz aren't truly contending this year? I like them to win the next four vs. the Lakers.
