OT: Lebron

Post#1 » by GP » Fri May 14, 2010 5:21 am

Sure all of us know that Lebron is going to be a huge story for the rest of the year. Where do you guys think he should go? Some cavs fans on their board claim that Lebron need some heart (lol). I guess this kind of proves fans everywhere are nuts after a loss and blame anyone. I personally, would love to see him go to NY and try to revitalize their team.

I hope he stays in Cleveland honestly. If he bolts to a bigger franchise now I think he'll set a bad trend for future stars, plus it rewards those teams that tanked for the past 2 and 3 years taking on bad contracts to have cap space available this year.

If he goes to the Bulls it won't be to a multi-year tanking team. I hope he stays with the Cavs though.

I want him to go to Europe to partner up with Rubio.

Cleveland tanked to get LeBron in the first place.

Tanking for a draft is one thing, tanking for three years when you have a chance to be competitive and making your fans suffer through that is another.

I don't think New York had a better option. They continued to suck because of continued poor decisions. The 2010 thing was only 2 years in the making. I think they end up with Joe Johnson, David Lee and hope for 2011 IMO. They could get Boozer instead of Lee. Top second tier guys should really push to be a Knick.

After all that cleveland did for him. All the salary they are paying out this year.
Lebron better stay.

It will suck for all small market teams if he bolts to a large market.

NY was in a bad setup and needed to clear players and cap space to start over regardless if LeBron was going to be available or not.

I hope that he goes to Chicago. I hope he does it quick, so ESPN doesn't tease and try and shove him down my throat even moreso than they already do.

I still get this feeling like he could end up on the Lakers. If 'Bron tells the Cavs that he's leaving and LA offers up Pau and Odom, does Cleveland really turn that down? Heck I'm not sure they turn down Odom and Bynum at that point.

Chicago and Miami make the most sense to me right now for Lebron, but you should never count out the Lakers with these type of deals. I shall now proceed to stab my eyes out with a toothpick.

Miami. High profile team, huge market, no state income tax. Wade + LeBron = scary. Perhaps NY, but even with King James, they have too many holes to fill before they could contend. Chicago would be instant contenders with LeBron, but I can't see James carving out his legacy on MJ's team. I definitely get the feeling he's done with the Cavs.

Cleveland has made a bunch of stupid, short-term personnel moves and has refused to fire their sub-par coach. I don't feel like LeBron owes them anything.

Personally I think he's heading to New York. It doesn't make any sense for him to go to Chicago where he would never live up to Michael Jordan.

I just hope he stays put for the cleveland fans sake. It seriously would be devastating for the, team, fans, city, everything if he left there.;

IF he does leave I'd like to see him in NY.

For the Jazz's sake, I'd like Lebron to stay. If he stays in Cleveland he may never be as good as he could be. As for Lebron, I'd like to see him go to New York. That is his best option in regards for himself. He will never live up to what Michael Jordan did in Chicago. He can write his own story in New York.

How is New York going to be a better situation? They will get a star or two and have to assemble the rest of the team with whatever scraps they can accumulate. They will be several years away from being contenders simply because they have nobody but a couple of stars. Having only 1 or 2 guys never pays off when the playoffs roll around.

I've never considered Lebron as a guy where winning comes first. His status as an icon has always come first. If that is the case, New York is the place for Lebron. Then again, I could be wrong. I don't know what Lebron is thinking. If he truly wants to compete in the playoffs, then you're right, New York isn't a good fit for him.

You can't become a basketball icon without winning.
