Jazz & Nuggets as trade partners

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Thu May 27, 2010 3:27 pm

Heres a trade the Nuggets and the Jazz can do that makes the Jazz championship contenders while the Nuggets change the make up of their team and helps their future. Jazz would have to clear Nene on his injury to make this trade.

Jazz get Billups, Nene & Jr Smith
Nuggets get AK-47, Memo & Jazz # 9 pick

Jazz Lineup

Pg Williams Price Gaines (Billups even would get time here during game)
Sg Billups Smith matthews
C Nene Fess Kosta
PF Miilsap Kosta 2nd round pick
SF Miles Smith Jeffers

Jazz add veteran leadership and defense giving them a good opportunity to win it all.
Nuggets get rid of Smith headache and have lawson to start at PG while adding a young talent like Monroe.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

Oh man...

Why would the Nuggets want to trade Billups?

Not that it is going to happen but I would probably start Smith over Miles... or even just ship Miles out if the trade went down, which it won't.

Better question: why would the Jazz want Billups?

No way either team even considers this trade. I've seen some dumb trade ideas in the past, but usually at least they make sense for ONE team. This makes sense for neither.

I can kind of see why the Jazz would want Billups. Sloan has run two pg's at the same time. Billups would offer verteran leadership and play all back up pg minutes. That would mean not worrying about paying Price. I doubt that they would want to pay that much for him though.

You've really outdone yourself. The Nuggets are going to trade 3 of their best 4 players for an expiring, for a center who's out for half the season, and the 9th pick? The Jazz certainly do not want nothing to do with Smith, Billups' value is highly diminished playing primarily SG. Nene is the only real asset for us here.

Best question, why would the Jazz want JR-blackhole-Smith?

I am one of the few. I actually wouldn't mind JR Smith.

That's presumably what balances the trade out.

No NO NO NO. Why would we want to acquire 3 of denver's 4 best players? Billups isn't the player he once was. Nene isn't anything special. Although I would enjoy watching Sloan butt heads with JR. It would be like Ostertag all over again
