Remember when Heat fans were laughing at any suggested Boozer for Beasley trade last summer?

While Miami fans always insanely overrated Beasley, that rumor makes no sense whatsoever.......

It may have also involved a swap of each team's first first-round pick. Since NJ has the 3rd overall I can see why they said no...
Still, the general idea is that Miami is shopping Beasley for much less than they were probably turning down last summer...

Beasley makes five million a year and apparently no one wants to take on that salary...The Kings or Clippers will probably trade for him this offseason for nothing.

Something's wrong with Beasley. You can tell watching him play the game; kid simply lacks the most basic concepts about basketball. He's probably athletic enough to save his NBA career, and he certainly can contribute for the right team.
If somehow the kid get his head straight may be he can finally take a step or two in the right direction.

Funny, I remember a lot of guys wishing they could trade up for this turd. Drafts are always pretty funny to look at in retrospect.

IMO, the Nets turned this down because they have a team option on Dooling. They can let Dooling walk away this summer and add 3M+ on their cap space. Taking Beasley at 5M per would just not bode will with their offseason plans. But if this were just another normal offseason, without the big names in the FA market, I think they would've taken Beasley.

Exactly. New Jersey and Miami will be competing for the same pool of free agents this year...using their own capspace and freeing up Miami's is taking two steps back at the same time. Makes sense for NJ not to do it; doesn't mean Beasley's value around the league is that low.

How about the Jazz? Sign-and-trade Boozer for Beasley, Joel Anthony (Restricted FA) and future pick(s). We take Beasley as an asset to trade rather than someone we play.

There are problems with that scenario:
- If you trade for a guy, he either must be traded within a short window of time or can't be traded again for a while.
- The Jazz are edging closer to the luxury tax without making the moves they need to improve--just hoarding "assets".

I would consider a sign and trade for B-easy with Korver but that's about it....
I have 0 interest in him now, if he can't figure things out alonside of Wade then I don't see how he will ever figure it out.

My suspicion is that Beasley's off-court issues aren't getting better and the Heat view him as a ticking time-bomb. He could be close to a Birdman-type suspension.

This isn't quite correct. If he's traded out again on his own, he can be traded any time. There's only a problem if you want to combine him with other players outgoing; then you have to wait 2 months.

Just thought it would be better to get something in return for Boozer, rather than watching him just walk away. And, Utah can make a three-team deal instead to land a player who fits the system.
