Free Throw shooting. Is the key

The jazz need to build the team around great players yes but also players that can shoot free throws. Back in the finals day that was one category where utah was one of the top free throw shooting teams. I've always wondered why no team goes out of the way to get really good free throw shooters. When you think about it, utah is always one of the top teams in getting to the line and if we have great free throw shooters then thats automatic points. There is sooo many games that have been decided by poor free throw shooting.

Well I don't think you build around it specifically, but you're right...many games are decided on free throws, and Memo, Williams, Miles, Millsap, AK and even Korver should all be better shooters from the line.

Of the top 10 free-throw shooting teams in the league this year, 6 didn't make the playoffs, the other 4 didn't make it out of the first round...

:dontknow:

But they didn't suck because their good shooting... yes, the Jazz would win more games with better free throw shooting, as they would do better with a higher number of blocks or rebounds or steals too. There is no magic bullet though.

No sweat, I think free-throw shooting is important as well.

But I am probably more in like with Sheik. Good rebounding teams win game, look at what Rondo does for the Celtics with his rebounding.

The game is pretty simple, the more possessions you have the more opportunities to score. Defense causes TO's, offensive rebounding gives you extra possessions, and defensive rebounding limits your opponents possessions. The odds are increased of you winning if you have more possessions then your opponent. The greater the disparity the better; therefore defense and rebounding is key.

Good free throw shooting just helps you capitalize on possessions, but does not create extra possessions.
