OT - USA Soccer top group for first time since 1930

This is an event that deserves at least one thread...

After being raped by officiating that stole crucial goals not once but twice, after dozens of close calls, the US overcame what would have been a disheartening collapse when Donovan chipped in a 91st minute goal...my heart was sinking into my stomach before it happened.

If results were just slightly different people would be questioning whether US soccer has really progressed whatsoever in 100 years...but one clutch shot puts us in 1st place with momentum going into the elimination rounds.

Serbia, Germany, and Ghana are all possible opponents in round 1. Let's hope it's not Germany, but either way, GO USA!

That was beautiful. I was thinking literally 30 seconds before it happened how it would take a miracle for the USA to advance. I guess Al Michaels was right.

I work at a call center and was doing my best to avoid getting a call after the 90th minute, alas I got one. My co-worker who sits next to me tackled me and knocked my headset off when we scored. I still can't believe they pulled it off. So many opportunities, one of them was bound to go in.

I normally don't give a **** about reppin my country, but GO USA GO!!!!!!

^What call center do you work at?

They were going nuts where I work at. They had a tv in the cafeteria at my wife's work with it on. She thought a fight broke out because everybody was yelling so much.

A very exciting game. Hopefully we don't get paried with Germany.

Yes, that was amazing. I was rooting for USA, definetely, specially after what happened in the game before.

Anyway, playing against Gana would be a real chance for USA advance deeper. I am rooting for you guys.

that wouldn't be Mr. Network would it? We used to watch ESPN while taking calls.
