After the Jazz drafted Hayward, I was stunned, angry and then I laughed. I was imagining what was going through Deron's mind when Stern announced the Jazz's pick. My guess? "Only 2 more years to go....."

To be honest, I really don't think vets pay much attention to the draft unless they are picking right at the top. I don't think Deron would have much of a reaction, because I doubt he knows the players that intimately. No, I think he is taking a wait-and-see approach. What will happen, imo, is that when the season starts, he will look around at all the players we passed on to get ducky here, and see how much they could have helped us, and KOC better pray that white rice there is a hell of a player, because if he isn't, DWill won't be too happy about it.

Locke is reporting that Deron sat down with KOC and liked Hayward. I don't know if that is really true, but I hope so.

^^^ agreed. There wasn't anyone available at 9 that would've been what Deron said we needed. To find that player its gonna have to be via trade. I wonder if the Magic taking Orton increases their odds of moving Gortat.

Deron's probably just wondering how long it will take before people forget about him again and he fails to make the all-star team. He's probably also wondering which TRUE contenders out there might be willing to pay him the max in two years.

Williams is not committed to the Jazz. We know it. He's been crystal clear more than once about why he signed a short contract. He will leave SLC sooner or later. He's not the embodiment of the high loyalty and other old fashioned standards the Jazz organization transpires. That's a fact, not a cynicism or a critic in disguise.
Jazz brass should analyze situations where they could think abouta trading Deron Williams; they ought to know what's the right package to consider, because I really believe there's teams out there tthat would be ecstatic about getting Mr. Willliams. Not saying they should trade him... just they should analyze the concept...

What he's committed to is winning....he signed a short contract cuz he didn't wanna get stuck on a non-title contender during his prime....who's disloylal if the Jazz continue to not put a title contender on the floor, The Jazz organization to the fans or Deron to the Jazz for not staying???

If my owner was more concerned about saving money than winning, I probably wouldn't have much loyalty either.

Here's to hoping we don't become the Pirates of the NBA.
