Holding Out hope for this Trade

Boozer to NJ to join Lebron plus our Memphis pick and the Harpring TPE
for
Derrick Favors, Humphries,
Why for the Nets. They are still rumored to be wanting to get rid of this pick, they were never that sold on anyone during the draft and we almost got it this time. They get a future lottery pick and they the get a TPE worth $6.5M to get an above average free agent. Say a Ray Allen in a S&T or someone else. They also get a 20/12 PF in Boozer.
They need to clear Humphries and Favors to do this deal, plus they pick up a pick.
I love this for the Jazz and for NJ.
Hopefully we even pry $3M from them to pay off Humphries.

Sorry meant to say we almost got the pick during the draft. Now we get it.

Why wouldn't they just sign Boozer outright? They're not that far away from two max slots. Seems crazy they'd give up the #3 pick in the draft instead of just clearing another few milon dollars of cap space.

If the Nets get Lebron and Boozer to pair with Lopez and Harris, they will need as many exceptions and help they can get. With the Jazz's TPE for Harpring, their own MLE, and perhaps we send them the one we got for Brewer, the Nets will be able to round out their roster in championship form quite nicely.
I believe they have to clear both Humphries and Favors to get a 2nd max player in, and if this is the case Utah is one of the only teams with this nice TPE and future lottery pick.
That is why they could do it. They are in a win now mode if they get Lebron and Boozer, and their won't be much interest in bringing along a 19 year old.

It may be the only way they get another big name free agent, or one at all. Say Boozer wants that extra year and $, NJ wants someone to help them out now. Jazz get a young prospect that could fill Boozer's void.
Teams with tall defensive centers, in my opinion, are dumb not to consider Boozer. He would look perfect next to Dwight or Lopez or Yao Ming. Any of those pairings would compete for best front line in the league. It's putting him next to someone like Okur that makes your defense worthless and stunts your offense vs. the likes of the Lakers.

After this trade. I would like to see if we could swing a AK for Rip/Monroe deal? Do you think Detroit would do it?

Oh yuck to Rip!!! Awful contract and doesn't seem to have it like he used to. Not worth Monroe.

I'd wait for the trade deadline before pulling for this one. There might be better deals coming for AK come February.

Agreed. Boozer's the perfect PF to pair with Howard or Lopez.

This is a dream. Nothing more. Boozer is going to go wherever he pleases. My guess is Chicago.

How about this:
Utah trades Boozer to a team with cap space, then TPE from that deal is traded to CHA for Chandler.
Are you guys willing to gamble one year with Chandler?
Would be nice to add a (hopefully) healthy Chandler to our frontcourt. Bobcats do this to free salary for FAs Felton and Tyrus Thomas.

Not a bad idea if the first goal isn't achieved. It also puts us in the drivers seat with negotiations in the future. I like Chandler's game, just not his injury history. Only worry is that with Sloans history of getting the most out of players he would likely have a banner year and become to expensive to retain. Sloan has the habit of getting the most out of players, and driving up their market values.
Shandon Anderson
Howard Eisley
Paul Millsap
etc.
