Jazz current rotation.
PG: Deron Williams
SG: CJ Miles
SF: Gordon Hayward
PF: Andrei Kirilenko
C: Paul Millsap
Bench: Memo Okur, Ronnie Price
Looks like the Jazz either need a PF/C then move AK47 to SF, or to get another wing and have Millsap/Kirilenko play 16 minutes a game at center to have an eight man rotation. The starting lineup looks okay, but this team is so thin right now.

July 10th 2010 Season starts very late October 2010 we have time to fill out the roster.
Also I think koufos will get some burn maybe it's just me but a 8 man rotation seems very unlikely for the jazz.

Re: Jazz current rotation.
Boozer played center for 16 minutes a game last year despite being shorter than AK.

Re: Jazz current rotation.
Deron, Price
Miles, Jeffers
AK, Hayward
Millsap, AK
Fesenko, Kufos
When Okur comes back you get a little better lineup. I am pretty used to seeing the Jazz play without Boozer, so that's not a biggie, but, not having Okur really hurts.
I'd probably put AK at center myself. Kinda like, almost exactly like, Phoenix did with Diaw. At least until Okur can play.
Deron, Price
Miles, Jeffers
Hayward, Miles
Millsap, AK
AK, Fesenko
I think that gives us a better shot at winning games.

Re: Jazz current rotation.
Asssuming we add Brewer (or if Fernandez or Matthews use him in place)
PG: Deron Williams (36), Ronnie Price (12)
SG: Ronnie Brewer (28), CJ Miles (20)
SF: CJ Miles (10), Andrei Kirilenko (28), Gordon Hayward (10)
PF: Al Jefferson (16), Paul Millsap (32)
C: Memo Okur (32), Al Jefferson (16)
You really need AK off the bench, he can handle the ball handling duties when Deron is resting. Millsap seems to do well off the bench as well, I doubt we mess with that unless we have to.

You have to be high on something to think Okur is going to play 32 minutes a game this year

Re: Jazz current rotation.
With a healthy Memo, I prefer Paul off the bench too. But as much as he's a quiet, good team guy, he'll be pretty frustrated on the bench. Remember the whole "will you ask for a trade if they re-sign Boozer?" stuff?

Someone is not optimistic about the Hayward era.

Historically Okur has played 32.2 minutes a night on average for the Jazz. Assuming he's healthy I see no reason to assume a deviation from that. And I dont expect the Jazz to put him out there unless he's healthy.

I see no reason to leave Okur in the starting lineup unless they put a robot foot on him during surgery so he can move faster. 20-25 minutes tops a night. Start Jefferson and Millsap. Sap deserves it, and will undoubtedly become immediately disgruntled after being the starting PF for about 2 days in the offseason.

Re: Jazz current rotation.
Technically the Jazz have 10 players on the roster as of right now. Matthews or two guys equaling the MLE will take spots and who knows from there. I could see the Jazz carrying 14 till Memo is healthy and cutting one of their non-guaranteed contracts in Jeffers, Gaines or Evans.

Robot foot... like a shoe that would catapult him higher... like this:

Re: Jazz current rotation.
The Jazz have a move or two left in them. Ronnie Brewer is a strong possibility. The one I like best--and continuing in the theme of picking up players who have showed promise and production in the past but who are in a "stock down" mode at the moment--is the idea of trading for Rudy Fernandez. The guy is a perfect fit in our motion offense, is death coming off screens, a terrific long range shooter and excellent ball handler/passer. For 25-30 minutes a game he is exactly what this team needs, but is caught out of position and in a bad role in Portland, as he already plays the exact same position that their best player plays--and isn't versatile enough to play the point more than a couple minutes at a time or slide over to the 3 either--on top of Wesley Matthews coming in on a full MLE (indicating they don't like what they have on the wing at the moment) deal. If we could absorb Rudy into our TPE from the Harpring or Brewer deal and flip them back an asset like Ante Tomic or a future protected 1st, that would solidify the rotation. But if we took the floor today? Here's how I think it would look:
1 Deron (37)/Price (11)
2 CJ (30)/Hayward (14)/Price (4)
3 AK (30)/Hayward (10)/CJ(4)/Evans (2)/ Millsap (2)
4 Millsap (34)/Jefferson (8)/AK (6)
5 Jefferson (26)/ Okur (22)
I don't think Fesenko would get burn if the season started today and everyone on our roster was healthy. But that is the closest I can come. I think Memo's days of being a full time starter are over. He might get close to 30mpg but I highly doubt he'll be over that mark.

^ I don't see Portland giving us Rudy.
