http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns...childress.htmlBarbosa for Turkoglu
2nd round pick for Childress
Meanwhile KOC sits on his ass. The Suns don't even have a GM. I think the past few years it was good for the Jazz to stay relatively low key in transactions and allow the team to grow together, but now, we need moves and we need to address needs. The Suns are giving up a frickin 2nd round pick for Childress.
This is just ridiculous.
KOC right now:

If true, they fit in well with the Suns, but not sure what Toronto doing unless they really dislike Turkoglu...
KOC needs to act now or simply admit the Jazz are tanking the season and playing for 2011-2012

No, I cited Childress. Turkoglu is just a part of their moves. They are getting Childress for a 2nd round pick. Teams are making moves. What have the Jazz done?
I've defended Kevin O'Connor before, but his amazing lack of ability to make any kind of move is jaw dropping. Our only moves could be bringing Sundiatta and Jeffers back, re-signing Fess, our singings of Evans and Hayward, and probably a Brewer/Mason signing.

The Jazz and spurs both tried to acquire childress and were unsuccessful. It's hardly KOC sitting on his ass. We probably just offered a little less then PHX.

Nah. They'll make statements how we're a

"young team" and we will

"compete" and any team under Jerry Sloan should

"never be counted out", and they've set themselves up good

"financially" and they will continue to

"look" to address needs. Those are the glossary of terms I pulled out of the Jazz PR spin book.

2nd round pick for Josh Childress. If we offered less then that than we really have NO clue how to negotiate.

contract wise PHX gave him 33 million over 5 years. Is he worth that?

PHX adds a SF coming off his worst season in years making 10+ mil a season and gives a 27-year old Childress the full MLE and we are sitting on our ass? Is Childress a better player then Matthews?

If Wes Matthews is worth that then you bet your ass Childress is worth that. He's a significantly better player than Matthews.

I don't think either is worththat would rather have shannon brown and ronnie brewer with our MLE. Or a rasual butler or roger mason. We still have a few options though they are running out. Also how much is RJ asking for? No way he gets close to the 15 he made last season.

Phoenix is one of those teams that makes moves just to make moves. Motion alone doesn't equate to any meaning. Turkoglu isn't going to help them any more than Shaq did. Well...maybe a little more than Shaq did but you catch my drift.

Turkoglu is going to be better in the Suns system...... But there's no way in hell we should have even thought about acquiring him.......
His contract is horrible.......
Childress is a different story...... But he's a SF, not a true Shooting Guard, and we have enough small forwards...... There's no need to add another long cotract for a position we already have covered.......

Childress...Overpaid.
Turkoglu...Overpaid and lazy.
No thanks.
I'm fine with KOC being patient and waiting for the right move instead of making a move for the sake of making one and crippling the franchise financially for when it really matters (i.e 2011-2012)

O'Connor is working--he just isn't getting desperate and doing something stupid. I'm not happy with the offseason as almost everything has been a loss of a player and nobody is getting added yet--but I think patience is going to pay off. At least I have that hope...

Ya I can't say that I would want any part of that deal. It's nice to see that KOC is looking to make moves but I'm also glad that we are not making stupid ones.
The Suns didn't do anything but make a move for the sake of moving with that deal. They are not going to be anywhere close to the playoffs, let alone the WCF now that they lost Amare and didn't land any other big FA to replace him so they are trying to throw up smoke screens to hide the fact that they will be a lotto team next season.
At least we still have a legit shot at making the playoffs.

Its not about the Jazz missing out on these two players its more about the Mavs having another year together and now with the Suns making these moves(yes they are overpayed) but the Suns are now a better team!Meanwhile the Thunder get a year older and the Grizz pick up Tony Allen(Kobe Stopper)
Jazz have done nothing. If It takes a horrible year to reload then so be it, but you hate to lose a year of Dwills prime to stupidity!Nevermind the possibility of lossing Dwill completely. This has been a frustrating offseason, but its not over yet. So until August comes around i will not completely lose my mind.

I would rather overpay Matthews than Childress. He had a horrible season last year overseas and is quite overrated by my estimations. I'm actually surprised that he wants to come back to the NBA, considering how much money he is making over there.
The Suns are NOT a better team for it as they are dumping Barbosa and Diaw.

His Euro team doesn't want him back and Im sure he would rather take less money to be in the US.
