I like Al, but Im a little surprised at the very long list of assets(although not necesarrily the most valuable) we had to give up to get him.

You can't aggregate exceptions, that is to say you can't use 2 exceptions, which they did not do.

Kinda bummed Kosta never panned out, what a waste of another pick. Wish we took McGee that year.

Its not that we're 'trading' the TPE; rather, the TPE allows us to absorb the salary of a player incoming in a trade even though it would normally put us over the cap.

Regarding KOC: Listening to his comments on KFAN, he clearly targeted Al before Boozer ever signed with Chicago, and likely had conversations with Kahn. He knew exactly what he was doing in obtaining the exception, and had a plan in place- with contingencies.

I always liked KOC, but assumed he was being stymied by ownership. In this case, it feels great to be proven wrong. Well done Jazz! And oh yeah- best of luck to Koufos, but I'm glad he's gone.

I think Kosta was the logical choice that year. Don't blame KOC one iota for selecting him. I'm sad he never went anywhere too, though.
