I sure hope the jazz are in the mix for Amundson! The need another big still besides Fez because of Okur status. Last year we had Okur, Fez, Koufus, Boozer and Milsap. We only have Jefferson, Milsap, Okur(hurt), no fez signed yet. Jazz need to step it up!

I've been wondering what is going on with Amundson...why the suns basically gave up on signing him again and why he's still a free agent. Plus, how far are the Jazz going to spend over the tax with Fes and possibly Amundson? If Melo gets traded to New York for picks and such then maybe he goes to his hometown (they'll need everything they can get if they lose Melo honestly...)

Lots of questions..

Seriously? The Jazz Signed a solid veteran and traded for one of the best low-post scorers in the league... come on Jazz, step it up! Being patient in this case would not be a bad thing. I'd be 100% on board with signing Amundson, but waiting it out could really work in our favor. There are going to be teams that underachieve by large amounts, these teams will most likely look to cut payroll. The Jazz have a handful of TPE's that could come in really handy at that point.

Bingo. Look at our bench...almost every guy we have is as cheap as possible. I don't see the Jazz spending anything more than the veteran's minimum (if that) on a 5th big, and if Amundson were willing to take the minimum he'd have signed somewhere by now. He'd be a nice addition here but I don't see it happening.

When ever I see Amundson the background beat from this song starts playing in my head:

I think the issue for the Jazz is Admunson is looking for MLE type money. Jazz aren't prepared to give that kind of coin to a guy of Admunson's caliber.

I agree though, I think at a cheaper price the Jazz should be knocking down the door to get into the Admunson conversation....

Amundson wants to be paid, I dont' really blame him, but we can't afford him if he wants the type of money i've been hearing.

Hopefully not, if the numbers that are being thrown around are real-he is not worth that type of money. He is a good energy, horrible offensive player which isn't worth even the LLE.

I brought this up a while back.

I like his game, and I know he would be successful playing for the Jazz. His hustle and defense would guarantee him minutes, and he addresses our single greatest need: interior defense.

But many have pointed out how strapped we are right now. He hasn't been signed for a rather long time, too. I wonder if he is holding out. I also wonder if he would be willing to play a year in Utah for cheap to get minutes and raise his value.
