Good for the team or not?

I greatly dislike Bell and think he's done. I'd rather start CJ (If he's improved his shooting because otherwise that would be horrible spacing) or Hayward.

Knowing Sloan - he'll probably still prefer to bring AK off the bench yet last year when AK started we did really well so hopefully he starts.. tough call there. I think Raja starts along side Deron with AK/Milsap/Jefferson...

I could maybe see Hayward coming in for Bell, and AK for CJ or the other way around..CJ coming in for AK...

Who backs up Milsap... Ak? Memo? Like a rotation like 2 power forwards and a center constantly rotating? That's a problem..and of course Fesenko backs up Jefferson. Probably the biggest question is who comes in for Milsap. But back on topic...

PG: Deron/Price/someone else than gaines hopefully..anyone..I don't care..new talent..
SG: Bell/Hayward/?
SF: AK/CJ/Jeffers
PF: Milsap/AK or Memo?
C: Big Al/Memo/Fesenko

That's my guess.. so yes I think you could see both AK and Bell together out there easily.

I like Bell next to AK, two great defenders, and Raja will help to spread the floor.

My starting 5 is Deron, Bell, AK, Millsap, Jefferson.

If you're talking about defensively. A healthy AK and Bell are easily our best defensive lineup.

Have Jefferson play half of his time at center, and half at power forward.

If healthy, Bell should start to spread the floor for Jefferson and Millsap....... AK should start because he plays better as a starter than as back-up.......

I think this rotation makes sense with our flixibility

SG/SF - Start Bell and AK, Rotate Miles in at both postions depending on defensive assignments.
PF/C - Start Millsap and Jefferson, Rotate Okur in with Jefferson splitting time at PF all dependent on match ups.

When you have 3 players playing in 2 positions there still are plenty of minutes to go around. Hayward and Fesenko will still get plenty of play in garbage time.

If Okur is not ready to come back then Fes will likely get more time. We still need to sign another big... Maybe we bring Collins back :D

That starting lineup is pretty strong defensively - sure will be nice for a change.

I think Hayward will get more than garbage time. Never can tell with rookies.

AK, moreso than Price, is our secondary ball handler. This is the main reason that AK comes off the bench, so that he can be on the floor when Dwill is sitting.

I expect AK off the bench unless we upgrade the backup PG slot.

I think Hayward is going to get a lot of time for a rookie and kind of play the role AK would off the bench.

Dwill/Price
Bell/Miles/Hayward
AK/Hayward/Jeffers
Millsap/Jefferson/AK
Jefferson/Memo/Fes

I really like that no matter what line up you throw out there size isn't a problem.

Who the hell is going to space the floor if Ak starts instead of CJ? Jefferson,Millsap,AK,Bell,Deron. Deron is the only one who can create his own shot we need CJ in there to spread the floor. And let him slash with the basketball. That being said I don't have that big of problem with AK starting over CJ but Cj would need 6th man minutes IMO.

AK-47 is a much better player than Bell or MIles and I have always wanted to start him except now..

Miles has to start because he is improving and benching him will ruin him mentally so he has to start.

Bell or AK-47 ...i say start Bell but give AK-47 the big minutes like 38 min a game! Play AK-47 as a back up at both forward positions. Use Jefferson almost exclusively at center as AK-47 needs all of Millsap's back up PF minutes. Memos minutes would be limited to 15 minutes per game giving him extra minutes when he is hot.

Amen, I think the Jazz upgraded in many ways. All down to how well Jefferson can pass and work with his new team.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, doing the same thing we did last year having boozer playing a center at times..Memo and Milsap and Boozer just rotating positions and then come out..just a 3/4 man rotation swapping spots or a rotating door type situation I guess. Wonder if AK will get PF time now?

Yeah that is the key..Sloan knows AK's production was higher starting but the backup squad will have Price and rookie/2nd squad out there (not pretty). That's why he does it and probably will again. Hopefully Price and Hayward will connect together with AK or CJ on the court...

I still think we need a new 3rd PG..gaines did not pressure Price at all for his job..get someone new - total rookie from the Orlando camp or.. something fresh from the D-league. Anyway all good points but with AK and Bell together that is a heck of a defensive lineup right there! :D

I think CJ is a better backup PG than Kirilenko right now. Kirilenko is a better passer with better advanced ball handling skills, but CJ can create penetration. CJ can also handle coming off the bench whereas Kirilenko can't. I hope Kirilenko starts. I hope this is the rotation.

First half of 1st and 3rd quarters:

PG: Deron
SG: Hayward
SF: Kirilenko
PF: Millsap
C: Jefferson

Second half of 1st and 3rd quarters:

PG: Deron
SG: CJ
SF: Kirilenko
PF: Millsap
C: Okur

First half of 2nd and 4th quarters:

PG: CJ
SG: Bell
SF: Hayward
PF: Jefferson
C: Okur

Second half of 2nd and 4th quarters:

PG: Deron
SG: CJ
SF: Kirilenko
PF: Millsap
C: Jefferson

The last lineup may not compliment each other that well, but it has all of the Jazz's best players on the court at the same time which is what you need at the end of games.

Deron, Jefferson, CJ, Kirilenko, and Millsap would get 36 minutes. Hayward and Memo would get 24. Bell would get 12. Price and Fes get 0.

Can't start CJ at shooting guard. He can't defense the good ones. Either start him at small forward or he comes in at either sf/sg. I really do like starting Williams/Bell/ AK/Milsap/Jefferson

Okur/Hayward/Fes/mikes/Price off the bench

Bell didn't come here to play 12 mpg, and we didn't sign him to play 12 mpg. Not only is there zero chance of that happening, but it would be a waste of a good player with fresh legs.
