We have destroyed Denver
I am just loving seeing all the Drama going on in Denver.
Fired GM, JR Smith choking players during summer pick up games, Carmello Demanding out.
Nothing like taking an overly confident, cocky team and knocking them to the ground in the playoffs. I guess preseason polls last year predicting Denver as the 2nd best team in the west were WRONG.

I won't lie. While I feel bad for their fans having to endure this cataclysm of bull, I derive a lot of satisfaction from these events too.

Whipped their asses in convincing fashion with a depleted starting lineup after "Carmelo's people of Utah" basically said the series was over before it began. Well, they were right....it just didnt turn out as they expected.

Re: We have destroyed Denver
I'm the same way.. I'm loving it!
but I know that this could be happening to us the very same way...well...probably not the choking and firing a GM like that...our organization wouldn't put up with all the junk that the denver players have been doing off court but Deron could wake up in the morning and just announce "i'm sick of utah trade me" and we'd be in the same boat.
That said I think Denver is...going to be pretty weak this season. Jazz cannot overlook anyone of course but I think the nuggets are in for a long season.

Don't give us too much credit. One more playoff series probably wouldn't have convinced melo to stay anyways. And JR? we'll he's just an idiot.

I think what folks should be concerned most about is star players fleeing to larger markets. I wouldn't take too much satisfaction in their troubles, as karma is a bitch.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

If karma was a bitch, Jordan wouldn't have won six titles.

Re: We have destroyed Denver
I think people need to not underestimate the risk that a star player takes in shaking the boat, so to speak. Making the transition to the unknown is both very stressful on a personal level as well as highly dangerous professionally. Some star players have switched teams to find themselves in a different role in a worse situation and ultimately derailed their careers. Only the absolute megastars, like the LeBrons and Kobes of the league, can switch teams and not have to worry about what it will do to their careers. Deron, as awesome as he is, is not in that league and it would be a serious risk and adjustment period.
No, its in the interest of both the team and the player to make things work out and not destroy the relationship. The Jazz have nothing to worry about as long as we remain among the top handful of teams in the league and continue to put quality pieces around him. That's it.

Not to mention Kobe's post-Colorado 2 titles and 3 trips to the finals.

I like the Nuggets rivalry, I don't really like seeing them go through all of this. Plus the more teams that beat up the Lakers the better.

Well, the Clips can if they get him; but this is bad that players can do this. Do I think Deron would do this? perhaps

I'm smiling because Portland has a guy named Brandon Roy who didn't want to leave and how fortunate we are to have him.

I'd ship him out for some draft picks and build around Batum.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

Neither would the Zeke led Pistons.

Not taking too much satisfaction in it, seeing as how the exact thing could be happening to us very soon with DWill

Well, yeah, that would suck. But I don't expect Denver to be sympathetic in that eventuality, nor should they be.
