OT: McGrady Insists He's Not Washed Up

Tracy McGrady still believes he has plenty left in the tank as he prepares to return from microfracture knee surgery as a member of the Pistons.

"I'm not changing anything," McGrady said.

"I'm only 31 years old. I'm not 44 or 41. ... I might not be dunking on anybody like I used to, but I'm going to put the ball in the hole. Who was that, (Mehmet) Okur, I dunked on in '03? I might not be doing stuff like that ... but I still can put it in the hole."

Anyone remember that dunk? It's not coming back to me, but the way he talks about it, I presume it's "famous."

Anyway...

Tracy McGrady is a career loser, both professionally and personally, and while I hope his knee is okay simply because I'd not wish physical ill upon a guy, I am looking forward to him failing miserably, like he has ever since he entered the NBA.

It was when Memo was with Detroit and a rookie nonetheless, but hey can you blame TMAC?

Guy hasn't really accomplished much even though people think he is HOF material so i guess that dunk pretty much sums up his career for him.

¿Does street ball has a HOF?
Of course he's not washed up... there's nothing to wash up out of him in the first place!

How funny is that? A guy remembering a 7 years ago dunk he made against a rookie :D, saying that dunk will mean something in 2010 !

What a loser. I love watching every postseason, when he falls completelly passing to the second round. Hey, if he can make it, sometimes he doesnt even go to the playoffs, lol.

Amazing how big ego these losers have.

Regards,

Hey, don't beat the dead horse.

T-Mac is a piston now, he was remembering that dunk, because is probably pistons journalist and pistons fans would remember that before another dunk vs another teams.

I know Vince Carter has some buzzer beaters, but the most I remember is vs Jazz.... I remeber another buzzer beater by Larry Hughes when he was a Bull... If they were Jazz men and talking about buzzer beaters, probably they would recall those actions and no others.

He has better dunks than that:

Im glad to see TMac is still playing and that someone gave him a shot but the fact is he is washed up, he never will be the player he was, because the player he was relied 100% on athleticism and did not rely at all whatsoever on basketball smarts or team play. Now that his athleticism has left him, he's just another tall guy that can shoot jumpers and dribble.

Coming from a Piston fan. I think he won't make a big comeback. If he can be half of what he was is good enough in the Pistons. However, I don't think Dumars is done until the ownership situation is finished with.

I don't get the deep hatred of players. I stop hating them once the season is over.

McGrady didn't demand a huge contract. He signed for the minimum in order to continue playing. I don't see how that makes him a bad guy. He had talent even though his teams never made it out of the first round.

Agreed. I have a lot of respect for McGrady, hope he has a nice career rebirth in Detroit.

Well, he certainly isn't as washed up as he was whenever he would play the Jazz in the playoffs. I think his body washed up on shore of the GSL every night he came to play in Utah...

Anymore? Bob Cousey made a late comeback attempt. Moses Malone played forever.
