Pistons gets an inside scorer plus & an expiring contract (17 million). Our young core need playing time (Jerebko, Day). Ben Gordon must be our starting SG. Millsap is an underrated player with a “good contract “(7 million per year). Pistons gets more cap space, thinking about next summer (Al Horford, Marc Gasol, Nene)
Jazz gets two all stars players plus a PF back up. Utah sends a clear message to Deron Williams: They want to win. Deron is thinking about asking for a trade after losing some teammates (Boozer, Carlos Boozer, Ronnie Brewer, Wes Matthews and Kyle Korver) this summer. Prince and Hamilton are experienced players who can work in Sloan´ system. Anyway, Prince´s contract is expiring (11 million)……….
Jazz have just got Al Jefferson to be their starting center with Okur, they don´t need Millsap anymore

Please forgive my bluntness: that's a mind-bogglingly, earth-shatteringly bad trade for the Jazz.
- We trade the cap relief of AK for lesser cap relief in Prince.
- We trade a young PF on a reasonable contract entering his prime for a much, much worse PF.
- We eat the contract of Hamilton, a guy who's clearly on the downside of his career.
This sends a clear message to Deron Williams: we're complete idiots.
... and, by the way, Deron is not "thinking about asking for a trade." There's no evidence of that whatsoever. He was very positive about the moves we made. This would completely destroy that positivity.

Honestly, I don't see either team going netting any of the big names in the 2011 Free agency market. (Marc Gasol, Randolph (Won't fit with Big Al), Horford (Undersized front court for both teams), Noah (Extension).

...so tired of all the Rip & Prince for AK and Millsap/Miles trades. This same trade (or slight variations thereof) must have been posted 100 times at least in the last year. Memo to Piston fans: no we don't want your cast offs. Thanks and have a nice day.

And of all those Pistons trade ideas, this has to be one of the worst.

why dont we just throw in DWILL as well bc after that trade the Jazz finish out of the playoffs. Terrible trade idea for the Jazz. Not even close!

deron spoke with big al just after he arrived and said "i will make you an all star" (it's from an interview with AJ) that kind of speak doesn't sound like he has any plans of even potentially leaving.

That's probably true. But I'd still rather have a better team and more cap room than a worse team and none.

I would trade AK and Memo for Rip, Tay, and Monroe. But that's it. Millsap would be the pistons best player. We're not giving him away for trash.
