It would be hard to believe that Fess would turn down a mutli-year offer from the Rockets to just stay with the Jazz. The Jazz unlikely match any multi year offer from the Rockets bc of salary cap issues unless the Ak-47 trade had gone thru which is less likely with each day that passes.

If you were Fess would you turn down 3-4 mil for say 3 years if only two years guaranteed, as any offer from the Rockets would be in that area, or would try to prove yourself with the Jazz who will give you plenty of playing time if you prove yourself then get big time contract in off season. A multi year contract would also bar you from playing over-seas if the NBA has some type of work stopage next year. I actually think I would take the one year contract to keep my options open next summer unless the Rocket deal was very good which it apparently was not.

Good. I can't help but feel like I am expecting him to become more than he can this season. If he can get into the rotation for a few minutes a game (3-6) and block a shot here and there, I'll be pleased.

Now you guys having a kiniption about the KOC's "passive" negotiating tactics can eat it. Why overpay.

So, what's the roster now?

Deron, Watson, Price
Bell, Miles
AK, Hayward, Evans
Millsap, Ellison
Jefferson, Fesenko, Okur

13 guys under contract if I count correctly. Jeffers and others to try to earn a contract in preseason I guess.

If AK gets moved for Diaw and Ross we'd have.

Deron, Watson, Price
Bell, Ross
Miles, Hayward, Evans
Millsap, Diaw, Francisco
Jefferson, Fesenko, Okur

With only one open roster spot.

Evans can't play small forward, he has the skill set of a center.

And the body of a shooting guard.

If he turned down a multi-year deal, it must have been for the league minimum with the 2nd year non-guaranteed. Why else would a 1 year $1.1 mill. deal be a better offer? Reports maintained that Fesenko was not the Rockets top priority so putting together a deal that the Jazz wouldn't match doesn't sound like it ever happened. Maybe Fes has better luck as a UFA if there isn't a lockout.

If K-Fes play decent basketball backing up Jefferson while Okur's out, KOC should try to lock him during the season. Which is the dedline to offer him a new contract once season starts?

Fes and his agent are planning for a lockout. He wants to play one year and then have the freedom to play in Europe next year.

It's fine to me... another 7 foot in our team doesn't hurt
