Why isn't Fesenko seeing any playing time?
So far the Jazz have had problems giving up offensive rebounds, problems on the defensive end, and problems with production off the bench. Fesenko looked good in preseason and has looked good in limited minutes. He should be playing at least 10-15 minutes a game and more depending on production. He provides a paint presence, rebounding, and interior defense. Elson has been better than I expected but Fesenko has a much higher ceiling. If Fesenko plays well I would even consider starting him until Okur returns. Milsap could then help with the bench production.

Well Fes had stop stomach problems for like 2 games, and Sloan wants a 9 player rotation.
Basically our 9 are... Jefferson/Millsap/AK/Bell/Williams, and Miles, Watson, Price, and Elson off the bench. Evans has been hurt, and Hayward is going to be riding the pine until he earns some trust from his teammates. I like Fesenko, but Elson has a better midrange game and makes less mistakes, and once Okur comes back, these two aren't going to even get playing time. Elson really screwed Fes, though saved our ass with Okur and Fes missing some time early in the season, I hope we can keep Fes, but I think he's going to be held back for a while, atleast until Okur's contract is up.

Just read what you said, and while I could understand the desire for more size, there is no way we can toss our best player, so far, to the bench for Fes. Don't even give me this, "our sixth man is a starter" thing, cause Millsap averaged 27.8mpg last season and he's averaging 36.5mpg now, and his numbers are nearly doubled across the board. Millsap averaged like 18/10 when Boozer missed significant time like two seasons ago, it's coincidence that his production took a big dip last season, he's a much better starter than a bench player, because there isn't a direct correlation of production to minutes, it's more a role thing.

With Elson coming off the bench that kills Fes minutes for sure, and the vet doesn't make as many mistakes as he does. Poor guy just needs to focus on the game of basketball, he always just seems like a little kid playing basketball for the first time.

You are a lunatic to want Sap to come off the bench. He has been the best player on our team by far this year.
Fes has done nothing to show me he would be any better than Elson so far. He needs to develop some serious hardass attitude or something, and not sit out with a stomach bug when his number could be called. If I heard he got sick, but wanted to suit up and play anyway, that would go miles in improving my outlook on him.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

I have to admit Elson has really played well of late. He is a very good defender and is working hard. I would like to see Jefferson get a little less minutes with Fess getting some of those min.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

Elson has been great, no doubt about it. BUT Fesenko has been better and will continue to get better with more playing time.
The only explanations would be....Fes is still recovering from being sick or Sloan is going back to his unreasonable obsession with veteran players or....they are trying to hide him from other teams until the off season so they can sign him to a long, cheap contract before he explodes into a very solid C
All I know is that he needs more PT now. He has shown so much potential so far and he is exactly what we've been waiting for since Ostertag was here (heck, even when tag was here we needed something like him). I just hope they don't kill all the momentum and confidence he has built up so far this season and ruin any chances of him having a breakout year all in the sake of giving a veteran some run.

Elson is a far better shooter and allows us to stretch the court a little more. Elson can hit the free throw line jumper Fez just stands there while Sap or Big Al get the double. Keep Elson in there until Memo comes back then i think Fes goes out there!

Elson is our very poor mans Memo right now is what im saying. When Memo becomes our main scorer off the bench with CJ then Fes can be put out there to grab boards and eat children!

He may be a better outside shooter but Fes is better in just about everything else expect for maybe defending the pick and roll or athletic 4's.
I'm always the kind of guy who wants to develop the young guys instead of playing mediocre vets....

Re: Why isn't Fesenko seeing any playing time?
I would love to see Fes out there more i just know why Elson is out there instead. Elson is better on the boards then i thought too. I agree i think we need to let Fes grow too. Im not sure if there is much he can do for us in the race house basketball we are going to be playing tonight though.
