Surprising statistic

The Jazz so far are leading the league in 3-point defense, holding opponents to below 30% shooting in three pointers. The Jazz have always had a problem guarding 3-pointers in the past.

probably just a streak of missed shots. Expect a return to norm as the season wears on.

It is nice to see. The Jazz are playing better defense this year than recent past years. I do think the Jazz have been a little lucky in other teams missing open 3s, but there has been a definite improvement in defense in totality, but there is still more room for improvement on D.
As Sloan says, you simply cant go out there to try and win the game by out scoring openants and not worrying about defense.

There have definitely been fewer wide open threes this season.
