miame media took a shot at us

Post#1 » by dd2410 » Mon Nov 22, 2010 6:23 am

http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/11/05/1 ... -cold.html

I know this is a article about their not so good ticket sales.
At the box office, the team also is cutting prices. Whereas the Heat was selling the worst seats at the AmericanAirlines Arena for as much as $175 for last week's home opener, now those 400-level seats are down to $16 for games against snoozer opponents like the Utah Jazz, which come to Miami on Tuesday. On stubhub, the top reselling site in the country, Jazz tickets are only $10.

we single out Jazz. HOPE WE CAN win both games and take the last laugh

I've never understood the perception that our style of play is boring. Of course, in fairness, I find the Spurs pretty boring, and many feel the two teams' styles are similar.

That's funny....so far the Miami and Jazz game has been the best of the year.

Gotta love smacking their arrogant traps shut.

Also, our play style is anything but boring. If you're an actual fan of basketball you should have an extremely high respect for the Jazz system and should never become bored of it. They run a pure offense and they run it right. And how are we a snoozer team when we have the best PG in the NBA????

Idiots.

Do you think they took the two cheerleaders with the most fake boobs for that promo?
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

The fact that this commercial exists proves that their fans leave something to be desired.

meh. Who cares? Honestly, I know lots of people who would rather not see the Jazz play. Lets face it, its not like the Jazz have the most exciting playing style. Great for Jazz fans though, because we can get into Jazz games for cheap. :)

And who's playing style is considered "entertaining"? Obviously as Jazz fans we are going to be biased, but I would think the Jazz playing style would be viewed as fairly "entertaining" by most NBA fans, especially with their knack for coming back.

And to be completely honest, the few times I've watched the Heat play other than against the Jazz, I've been pretty bored.

I don't think it matter who's playing the Heat, they don't have that many die-hard fans to sell out their arena.

I mean if having two of the top 3 players in the league can't do it, what will?

I watched a bit of the Celtics-Heat in Miami and it looked empty for much of the night. Their ticket prices aren't even as bad as the Celtics.

The Jazz were .500 when that was written. But yeah, the East Coast bias there is pretty obnoxious.

Put yourself in their shoes. How many people in SLC get amped up when the Hawks come to town?

There are teams in the NBA that are big road draws but the Jazz aren't one of them. I don't see that them pointing this out is any more significant than some Jazz fan misspelling Miami in a thread on RealGM.

Percentage wise we are sixth in the NBA in road attendance, and twelfth last season.

Jazz roll one deep on the road, they don't care about what any fools say. :pityfool:

Personally I get amped for any opponent. The NBA has so many stars on so many teams now-a-days it's pretty hard to find a team which doesn't have one single player who is fun to watch. Even if it's just a rook you followed in college or whatever...there is always something interesting/entertaining to watch on every team.

I would think the Heat fans that got to watch Paul Millsap drop 46 on them to win in OT got their money's worth....

I think the Jazz style is entertaining myself, that is when shots are going in. You tend to see a lot of good passing and a lot of cuts. Most other ball I see is a bunch of iso play. How does that not get old after a while? The thing that may make Jazz ball less then entertaining is all the fouling, but maybe I'm just used to that now.

IMO its got nothing to do really with style of play. Thats just what the haters say its about. Truthfully, its all about the aristocracy that exists in major markets vs small markets. Same thing exists in college football, where the criminal BCS system is aristocracy in carnate.
