Jazz record over the next 6 weeks..

Post#1 » by sendai91 » Mon Dec 13, 2010 1:18 am

Our Jazz have played the toughest schedule in the league over the last 10 games and the third-toughest schedule overall so far. I'm delighted with a 17-8 record and a division lead at this point.

I was just looking over the sched through the end of January and am amazed at how much easier it gets.

Here's my picks - I see the Jazz going 18-6 and a record of 35-14 sounds both realistic and much better than expected.

Here's the schedule:

H - Golden State - W
A - New Orleans - W
A - Milwaukee - L
A - Cleveland - W
A - Minnesota - W
H - Portland - W
A - Clippers - W
A - Portland - L
H - Memphis - W
H - Detroit - W
H - Atlanta - W
A - Memphis - W
A - Houston - L
H - Knicks - W
H - Cleveland - W

Memo comes back...

A - Washington - W
A - New Jersey - W
A - Boston - L
A- Philly - W
A - Lakers - L
H - Spurs - L
H- Minnesota - W
A - Golden State - W
H - Charlotte - W

I have us losing 7 or 8 in that stretch, it gets easy but also makes it easy for the jazz to play terrible basketball (like against indiana) and get wins so hopfully we win most of those games by double digits.

I hate threads like this. But, yes, the upcoming schedule is favorable. We will finally be making up for playing so many tough opponents early on, with the caveat that now we'll be playing much more on the road.

Here's how I think it could go:

H - Golden State - W
A - New Orleans - W (They are playing poorly atm)
A - Milwaukee - L (this one's up in the air, I'd say 50/50)
A - Cleveland - W
A - Minnesota - W
H - Portland - W
A - Clippers - W
A - Portland - W *I think we can win in Portland*
H - Memphis - W
H - Detroit - W
H - Atlanta - W *I think we can win this one as well but it will be a tough one.*
A - Memphis - W
A - Houston - W *Once again, I think we can win on the road against an inferior team :D*
H - Knicks - W *Knicks are playing good right now, this one probably will be close.*
H - Cleveland - W

Memo comes back...

A - Washington - W
A - New Jersey - W
A - Boston - L
A- Philly - W
A - Lakers - W *I think we can beat them in L.A. If they continue to play the way they are now.*
H - Spurs - L
H- Minnesota - W
A - Golden State - W
H - Charlotte - W

I'd say it's very realistic we could go at least 19 - 5 in this time. I wouldn't be surprised if we can get 20 or maybe 21 wins. But again it all depends on if everyone's healthy and how much of an impact Okur can make, especially against someone like the lakers.

I would expect and hope this team goes 19-5. They might lose a game which they are favorites but win one which they are dogs. Just using the Vegas line, I expect the Jazz to be favorites in 18-19 of those games.

I don't think I've ever seen a thread like this where the team performed as we [probably rightfully] expected them too.

We SHOULD go 19-5, but I imagine it'll end up being 16-8 or so, with some pretty frustrating defeats against teams we have no business losing to.

Wow, this really is a chance for the Jazz to make a move. I don't think it's unrealistic to say that they will dominate, but I can see it going either way.

First we need revenge on Golden State tonight.

It would help to get Bell back in the lineup sometime soon.

I see 8 losses. The Jazz just aren't holding home court like they have in past years. That is still a great record, having this team at 33-16 would be good, much better than I expected, but also wouldn't leave much room for error to achieve 55 wins, which I think would net a 2 or 3 seed.
