Will Melo endorsements surpass LeBron?

Melo seems to bought into the Knicks BS, about becoming a "billion dollar man." Goes something like -- "New York City is the greatest marketing engine in the world, and if you help bring a championship here, then you will get all of the endorsements that you can imagine."

Problem with that theory is that the high paying endorsements are national and not local to New York City. In my line of work, I occasionally have to deal with the false notion that the entire world revolves around New York City, and it seems like Melo is buying into

Based on what Melo is doing to Denver (far worse than LeBron IMHO), I predict that he will never receive endorsements of significance that will even come close to LeBron.

I was telling a freind of mine that I thought Melo was a punk, and he responded "really?".

Maybe I am being extra prejudice against, but he is one of the few people that I look at, and I just don't like him.

Agreed!

Everything New York trades out turns to gold so I don't think Denver will be hurt that badly long term.

In fairness, one could say that the main difference between Melo and LeBron, is that Melo made the mistake of showing his cards too early.

On the other hand, it could be said that LeBron really hadn't made a decision and that he at least gave Clevelanad a fair listen.

Bottom line is that Melo could put a stop to it all, and say I will not be talking about this during the regular season, so please respect my wishes and don't ask me about my impending free agency, and handle it exactly like LeBron did. But since Melo is not doing that, it would seem that:

1) Melo is relishing the attention, even though it is negative attention more than it is positive attention, or
2) Melo wants to get out of Denver so badly, that he can't wait until the end of the season and is trying to force a trade NOW.

He isn't a punk... why? because he is or will let the Nuggets know about his situation unlike Chris Bosh or even LeBron James... I know that all the talks/rumours are affecting his current team and bothering its fans but still - at the end of the day it will be better if his traded for future assets rather than just the trade exception.

I assume that you are a Knicks fan, because what you are saying sounds like "spin."

My geuss is that you would be in a rage if Melo did the same thing to the Knicks (because New Yorkers are often in a rage).
