Only 8 of our 24 W are vs elite teams, (to be fair 8 W vs 10 L vs teams with already W %)

We are very reliable vs bad teams, but I think we are not growing strong to play playoff because we are 3-6 at home vs elite teams.

Ill take this over the Jazz of recent years that would lose to bottom dwellers. Its no secret we've got work to do and that we're missing a few pieces to truly contend...but at least we are beating the teams we are suppose to beat and hanging in their with the teams that are contending/pretending....

The two teams with losing records that we lost to aren't exactly bottom dwellers this season either. They are beating who they should, which is a welcome change. The only losses I am deeply concerned with are the losses to Portland back to back and the loss to NOH. Given that they rebounded really well from all of them, this team is doing quite well. They haven't lost 2 games in a row since the first 2 of the season. That's pretty awesome, considering some people were ready to jump off buildings after those first 2.

Considering how I badly things could have gone with this new of a team I'll take that record with no complaints.

The only horrible losses in my book are the two Portland losses and the Phoenix loss, we should have won all three of those games. But I promised to be patient with this team for the season so I can't get too upset over those either.

We can all agree on the fact that we need at least one more piece to really be considered contenders. But I will say that our road record goes to show just how solid this team is. We don't go out on the road and die like we have in past years, we play the same at home as we do on the road. Sure, it's concerning how poorly we've played at home considering Jazz home court standards but more than anything road wins show the maturity and leadership level of a team. I'm very encouraged to see how well we've done on the road because that's what elite level teams do; they win on the road. Look at any true title contending team and they all have stelar road records. We are right up there with those top teams with our road record. If we had 2 or 3 more home wins like we probably should then we would be up there in the discussions of those elite teams.

And in all fairness, we've played a brutal schedule thus far. I like where we are for now.

Honestly, I think the starters and specifically D-Will are just coasting for the first half of the season. They kick it into gear when they need to on the road and when games get close, but I suspect they aren't really pushing themselves to bury teams and instead conserve energy.

Watch and see: barring injury the Jazz will go on a tear after the All-star break and hit the playoffs firing on all cylinders.

I try to be frigidly objective and never believe too much in my team so as not to get my hopes crushed one day.

Then someone like you comes along and tries to ruin all my hard work.

That doesn't help us, it just gives those teams a better record come playoff time. The Spurs had a poor record against good teams the last two seasons and that didn't work out very well for them.

Im not quite sure what to think about this. In the last couple years we have not won consistently against poor teams at home or on the road, now we do. The reason behind this might be that our frountcourt defensive has improved. No more crappy teams getting easy buckets and getting momentum(im not saying our frontcourt defense is good, just better then the "defense" of Okur/Boozer).

It seemed as though Korver,Brewer, Matthews, and Okur all played much better at home. Maybe that contributes to our subpar home performance? Or maybe the jazz have matured to the point where they can turn it off and on instead of needing the crowd for energy? I dont know.

The Portland losses are the ones that concern me the most. I guess the NOH loss scares me too. It was frightening to see that we could be that bad.

As most of us have watched most if not all the games this year, we definitely see the Jazz able to beat all the elite teams at home as well as the road. This could not be said last year. This team is much better than last years team. Are we good enough to make it to the championship? Probably not unless a star SG is obtained for AK-47's expiring contract.

Well, they looked pathetic vs. Atlanta. Almost like they've never played as a team before. And that was about as bad as I've seen Dwill play ever. I think I would have benched him if I was the coach.

I think the fact that this year's team has so much new faces has been accentuated by the many injuries and it hasn't allowed the team to really gel as a whole. The most constant thing this team has had in terms of players has been the bench because it's been the same almost all season. However it also as struggled recently with Miles out and when Memo came back it shifted the bench also and if you remember I believe our bench struggled during that time.

Just to throw it out there about our starting unit:

Only 40% of our starting line up were starters last year. The rest are new to the team or the role as a starter.

This year 60% of our starters have missed games and have been replaced by either a rookie or a new guy to the team.

So yeah, I think we as a team need time and health, and I think our record is awsome considering all of this.
