Mehmet Okur????

Post#1 » by joe.linnen » Thu Jan 13, 2011 7:19 am

I'm glad he's back didn't get a chance to watch tha game I only saw his stat line. I was wondering how would Slone use him will they place him at Center and move Jefferson back to Power Forward or will they keep move Okur to Power Forward. I would like to see Okur at the four. I think haveing Jefferson down low alone while havin a guy that can bomb away from deep would been nice, kinda likew with Boozer but with a much bigger guy and much better defence. I wish you guys well.

We're not quite sure how things will shake out. Okur may be inserted into the starting lineup once he's back in the groove (sending Millsap to the bench), or he may play that "hired gun" role off the bench, to give our second unit some dependable offense.

I do agree that Okur complements both Jefferson and Millsap. Having him back should be a breath of fresh air.

I think I read taht Jefferson, Millsap, and Williams were fixtures in the starting lineup. I would guess that Okur comes off the bench, probably for both positions.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

No way is any big safe in the starting lineup the way Jerry has been talking lately. He keeps saying he doesnt know what our bigs lineup will be until he gets memo healthy and can see what he can do. He said that again last night.

I kind of like the prospect of a healthy Okur coming off the bench. He and CJ Miles could be our designated shooters and could just focus on filling it up while Watson, Price, and Elson/Fes can focus on the hustle and dirty work.

That being said...Millsap is a nice player off the bench. I just think at this point in his career, and with the injuries, Okur would be more willing and could thrive more in that role.

I would rather have AK coming off the bench with Memo because he will find him open shots more than CJ would. Add Watson and Price to that for energy and good passes, and Fes to clog the lane, and we would have an amazing bench in that case.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...
