Jazz are content at being average!

I have said it before and I will say it again. The Jazz management appears satisfied with 4-6 seed position with one or 2 playoff rounds and out. Other playoff teams like the Mavs making moves and maybe even pick up Peja while Melo might even go to the Bulls. The Jazz are playing very inconsistent basketball and need a scorer at the SG or SF position very badly. I am a huge AK-47 fan but it would be best for him and the Jazz to part ways as he is not used effectively in the Jazz type of offense.

Why not Melo to the Jazz for AK-47 and Hayward and a #1 pick. It sacraficies the future of being average for a chance to be great for one season if not more if Melo likes it here.

The Jazz need to make a move but I think it will be the same old Jazz around the trading deadline!

If he was smarter he'd realize it's the 29 other GMs who are trying to keep the Jazz average and not ours.

Melo fits in Utah and with Sloan like I fit in in Mecca... I don't.

I'm all for making moves. I'm the "lets make moves" guy. But for the love of our burning bosoms, can't we suggest moves that make some sort of semblance of sense? Do we really have to sound like Raptors fans around here? Help me out, Toledo.

I don't like the message it would send if the Jazz took a half year rental of Melo. They can't afford to look like a team that would allow themselves to be punked by the most elite of punks, because he would get to somewhere in the East as soon as he could drink a 5th and get in the drivers seat. There's a reason why teams are having serious second thoughts about going after him, and having to have team meetings to discuss why they would want him on their team. You think this team is jumpshot happy now, just imagine an uninspired Melo jacking up jumpshots all game long. Sounds great...

Clearly KoC doesn't care about this team being good. If he did he would trade Memo + CJ/G-spot to Orlando for Dwight Howard and the Gortat TPE. I'm sure Orlando would be willing to do this (we can even throw in our 2027 second-rounder to sweeten the deal but that's asking a little too much IMHO). Oh well, I guess we will just have to stick with being average

You do realize that you are saying the Jazz should sacrifice the future, for what MIGHT make us better, to one of our biggest rivals! That's like America trading Nukes to China for financial relief right now.

The future? I don't like this trade idea, but if we're gonna call Hayward and a future 1st our FUTURE, then I hope 2012 truly is the end.

Good ol Jazz fans- falling in love with players who'd look good in a white shirt and black tie since 1978.

The Jazz fans themselves are happy with being average as well. Laker Fans and their organization want a championship every year and will make the moves therefore. The Jazz fans and organization are content with being just ok. I am not and prefer some down years if they occur after making a risky trade such as one for the one year rent of Melo. Where are we going to be in a couple of years when Dwill leaves. At that time, all of you guys will be saying, I wish we went for it at least one year!

I'm content with being average. 5 inches is better than nothing.

agreed. i'd say jazz are slightly above average so we might even be 6.5-7. no complaints here.

GMing is like a poker tourney. If you push in every hand it's not a matter of if, but when you bust.
Expecting to double up with Q6 because someone else has got a deep stack from pocket Aces 6 hands ago won't get this team anywhere.

Then there are those who don't like Hayward for equally stupid reasons.

He's going to be a very good player, and in a few years everyone will be glad we picked him and act like they knew all along.

As for this trade idea...what the hell? There's no way he'd resign here. It would be a waste. I'm all for getting rid of AK, his early vacation planning, his eating disorders and his World of Warcraft obsession.

Anyone else think it's funny how few games he's missed this year, it being his contract year?

Hopefully some team looking for cap space next year will trade us some guys to fill out our roster for him. The lingering ? in my mind is if the Jazz would do it, rather than shed salary themselves.

*shrug* Hayward's looked good to me. I'm not counting on him as a franchise player, but I certainly hold hope that he can be a significant piece for us in the future.

Oh HolyToledo, you haven't posted in a while. You were one of the biggest supporters of this summer's moves, even your sig had us winning the Western Conference. Same team, six months later, and now you come up with this garbage.

By the way, Dallas makes moves EVERY year and it hasn't translated to much playoff success (they didn't make any moves the year they made the finals, I don't believe).
