Bring Millsap off the bench...

...and move Jefferson to the 4!

Why?

Millsap is ideal for coming off bench and Al is a 4! Pair Al with Memo and things start opening up!

Williams
Bell
Kirilenko
Jefferson
Okur

Watson
Price
Miles
Millsap
Elson/Fesenko

I'd start Elson or Fes. Jefferson and Okur would be just as soft as Millsap-Jefferson has been.

probably true...i'm just thinking offensively having Memo could spread the floor for Al to do his thing!

You account for Price, Elson, and Fesenko, but not Hayward? That hurts my heart, my friend.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. Millsap needs to be the 6th man.

Elson
Jefferson
AK
CJ
DWill

Then you bring Millsap, Watson, Hayward, Bell off the bench. Fesenko and Okur aren't healthy enough to even discuss; Price and Evans can get garbage minutes here and there.

Yup. This needs to happen. Okur and Jefferson could outsize a lot of other front lines. Millsap and Jefferson are most often undersized.

I just don't know if Memo is ready for more than 12 minutes a night.

I agree.

Although, I would start Memo at the C.

Why you ask? Well because I think our offense is more of a problem than our interior defense is at the moment. I feel as if our offense ignites our defense rather than the other way around. Memo would spread the floor for Jefferson and would be the perfect fit to Big Al's post up game.

I'd start Memo over Elson assuming he's healthy. At this point I just left him out of the rotation altogether. A guy who is getting periodic epidurals to deal with back pain doesn't sound like someone you can depend on.

I like either Elson or Okur starting at center and Jefferson at power forward. stop startiing Bell anywhere!!!

I'm not sure Millsap would take this very well... I mean, I know He. Player. They. Boss. But I don't see him being a very happy camper, which can suck. Hell, his rebounding already blows this year. Imagine him unmotivated.

Agree that Millsap would take it very poorly. Doesn't mean we shouldn't do it, but he'd react badly.

I think the reason Al's defense has improved is in part because he is playing at the five. I'd be willing to start AK at power forward (or Memo), but not Jefferson.

yeah, maybe Millsap would sulk coming off the bench but seriously, if he does, park his rear on the bench for good or trade him. He has had every opportunity to show that he is a star but frankly he hasn't been able to deliver, and lets face it, he is not a star and in any case needs to do what is asked of him. Playing Memo at C, Jeff at PF, AK at SF, CJ at SG, and Dwill at PG is a solid starting lineup, and with Memo/Jeff at C, Millsap at PF, AK/CJ at SF, Bell at SG and Watson/Dwill at PG, we have a solid second unit. Now all we need is a high scoring SG or SF to replace Bell.

I don't see Millsap complaining about coming off the bench. He just doesn't come off as that type of player.

Just don't cut out too much of his minutes.

I donno, man. This always alarmed me:

When asked the morning after the Laker loss if he’d request an opportunity to play somewhere else if Boozer returned — ask for a trade, to phrase it more bluntly — Millsap didn’t shut the door on the possibility.

“I don’t know what I would do,” he said. “I would have to wait and see.”

There were lots of little hints after Millsap re-signed and everyone thought Boozer was gone that Millsap wasn't super thrilled with coming off the bench.

Maybe he feels differently now that he has had the starting job for more than half the season and has started to disappear/get worn out?

Pretty sure any athelete with any sense of pride at all would never ever ever cop to that.

He only has three good fingers on his right hand. That's great for his girlfriend but I bet it makes playing basketball a real bitch.

Any smart guy knows you do that with your left hand so it feels like someone else is doing it.

Wait... Whats that?... It only works on yourself that way? Oh yeah....
