What Deron Said at Practice Today

Jazz's Williams told Smith: "I don't like being in the spotlight. It puts a lot of tension on me, and I don't like it.”

Oh, well do you think that playing in LA with Kolby and the west coast press or in New York with mafia and the east coast press is going to take some heat off of you?

I almost forgot, you're thinking of going to Dallas? Dirk's getting ready to hang it up there. Then what are you going to do? Those Dallas fans are going to be on your butt if you don't take them to the finals---and win it all. And of course without Dirk, that's not a possibility.

It's hot and humid in Texas and they have roaches the size of mice. And it's an hour to an hour and half ride to the arena in any burb you would want to live in instead of 20 minutes down Highland and 7th East.

Big fish in a little pond, or big target on your back in a big pond.

Sounds eerily like something Stockton once said when asked what all he was going to do during All-Star weekend. Something along the lines of "I don't get involved in all of that. I'm just gonna go play basketball, come home, and play basketball." Don't quote me on that verbatim, but it was something along those lines. I'd rather have a player who is more worried about playing ball, than being in the spotlight. eg: Chris Bosh

HAHA sad part is, chris bosh= Dwont they both were never capable of leading a team to the promised land. So at the end of the day I would rather have a showman than an egotistical bastard

Not sure where the animosity is coming from? Has he asked for a trade to those places? I guess I don't understand. Are we assuming that since he "forced Sloan out" that he wants to play in a big city now? I haven't seen anything that would make me think he already has a foot out the door, besides most people's speculation.

WOW Deron has never ever said anything about playing for another team. Also, taking a small part of the entire quote can be misleading, you know the spotlight he is talking about is because of the Sloan situation.

How the hell can you hate a guy like Deron freaking Williams when he's on YOUR team. The guy's a superstar.

What is going on? Sloan retired? Boo freaking hoo. The man has a legacy the length of Kirilenko's wingspan, you think Deron pushed him out? Jerry Sloan...getting bullied? I think it played a role, but I think he also realized, I'm a little old for this ****.

Yeah, that's why he signed a three year deal.

I can honestly say I wouldn't mind him being traded. This team is a complete mess and there's no chemistry. I'll take Watson starting at the point if we can get an all-star big that can play defense. I'm sick of this drama and have lost the will to watch this pitiful effort...

the only ones on the trading block are

AK= value
CJ= Inconsistance
Bell= Age
Price= Productivity

Sloan is great old school but hes only effective if the players buy into the system. Jerry over the years has change some parts of the system to fit the players who have been unwilling to buy into the system. Id like to see Malone do some coaching for utahs forwards. Malone is right to say the Jazz players just don't put the effort to break down their opponents game. More often than not our guys are picked apart. Everyone knows our game and have broken us down to the pass. This team needs to do their individual home work and improve their defense. On the offensive end Id like to see Jefferson learn to work on his face up game not just rely on the floating hook. Miles needs to learn how to mange the clock better. More often than not he just takes the stupidest shots because the clock runs down to 4 just freaked drive and draw the foul or at least get a close shot. D will needs to play like hes the face of the franchise. He needs to dictate the tempo of the game the first quarter, get everyone involve the second and take over the final stretch of the game offensively.

You can't blame him for wanting at least a little bit of leverage. The team had also just been to the WCF, so I doubt he did it because he wanted to play somewhere else. Just because Lebron did it and left doesn't mean everyone else will.

Lebron Bosh Amare Boozer CP3 Melo.

All have or will change teams when they can. Dwont is no different.

The CBA approved by the owners gives players this option. They are entitled to exercise their options in a free market system.

I'm really curious to see if the new CBA increases or decreases the advantage conveyed by the Larry Bird exception.
