All Star interviews: Jazz's Williams said it's been a "strange" year for Hayward.

Yo, it's been a strange year for all of us, especially Sloan!

No explanation from BTS on Deron's comment about Hayward, at least not yet.

I didn't see any of the normal 'I want to stay in Utah' comments. He's gone in 2012.

And can't you guys at least respect yon? Not everyone has to agree with each other all the time. As annoying you think he is, it's equally as annoying to people like me who have to keep seeing people call him a troll all the time. If you don't like what he has to say, just ignore him or don't reply. I appreciate the alternate point of view that he brings to this board.

I think he was saying that he wanted to see the CBA finished before he could think much about what he wanted to do. There are provisions being discussed, that if passed, could reduce substantially the amount of money he can get moving somewhere else. There's also the franchise tag proposal.

I don't think any of the big name free agents in 12 have any clue right now what they may or may not be able to get. A hard cap would really put a damper on the party. That's why the players are proposing things like 2 first round picks for weak teams.

wow, that was one of the better interviews I have read in a while. Usually, you don't get too much information out of Dwill, but this extended interview really shed some light on some important questions. Great stuff.

+1 very cool of him being honest in saying he didnt want to be there answering the same questions. It's obvious Deron is really frustrated with himself and im a little glad, it's showing he gives a damn, at least a little bit

His point was a guy 68 years old probably can't relate to a 26 year old very well. He also said it's not a bad thing, just how it is.

I don't see the problem with that comment.

Joe Paterno is 84 years old and still coaching guys younger than Deron. But D-Will says that Ty is more like his friend....lmfao. I'm still not happy about the whole situation.

- Deron Williams being deronwilliamnesque. He doesn't really say anything. I'm ok with that since I don't expect him to go out there and say "I will be in a Jazz uni forever".
- If your paychek is really big but can't relate ok with a Hall of Fame coach because dude's 68... I think you have a problem... If I'm earning millions I ought to be able to relate with my boss, like him or not, even if he likes John Deere's and I like Bentleys...

Football and basketball aren't the same--and college and the pros aren't the same. Jo Pa's staff does most of the work as there is no way he has time for all those players. NBA teams have 15 guys at most so there is much closer contact and work done there.

All said, I can't wait until this all dies down. Sloan has moved on and when everyone else does too it will be a great day. I really hope the Jazz put together a late year run and distract everyone from Sloan.

Has the drama that has hounded Williams since Sloan’s departure negatively swayed his opinion of the Jazz, and will it affect his decision to re-sign with Utah after the 2011-12 season?
No.

While this doesn't say he is back, Sloan retiring won't affect his decision on where he plays. Give it another year before anything crazy happens.

They dont need to relate!!! dwont needs to get his ass whooped to learn some respect.

You dont have to like someone but when they are your coach you sure as hell respect them

What you want Dwont to like Jerry so they can be "BFF's'? They can go to the car show and hell the strip club. Also that is how you manage to lose the professionalism that teams need.

The only coach that I consider to be truly a players coach, where I could see them going out together would be Doc rivers.

When Deron says he doesn't want to do what Melo / Lebron did, that's not necessarily good for us. Melo endured months of absurd levels of media scrutiny to be traded instead of leaving in free agency because of the CBA. Deron won't have that incentive to push for a trade instead of leave in free agency. It means if he does leave, it's probably for nothing.

Big test of the front office next year.
