Why won't the Jazz play their young players still?

Jeremy Evans with a DNP in a night where Elson gave the Jazz nothing.

Bell 5 points in 30 mins. Hayward 2 points in 17.

Why won't they play Evans??????

Is it possible that Evans is being traded tomorrow? A DNP usually signals such.

He played the last 4 minutes but the game was out of reach already.

Evans played.

He's not getting traded. He has no trade value. He didn't play more because he generally plays poorly against the type of bigs Dallas had in the game. He doesn't have the physical size to stay in the paint with them. Elson doesn't either but he has more experience.

Hayward had a tough night but his shots were veryclose. Kirilenko's dropped for him and Hayward's spun out. Bell, Hayward, CJ and Watson all had tough shooting nights.

Seems to be the case almost every night this year.

Sometimes it feels that way. It's interesting that the Jazz's first eight players can't seem to have a good night at the same time. When Jefferson shoots well, a couple of the other guys seem out of sync.

Milsap is shooting the best percentage for the Jazz because he gets a lot of inside shots. Jefferson, Kirilenko and Hayward are shooting the 2nd best percentage around 46% to 47%.

Bell, Miles, Watson and everyone else are shooting closer to 40%. They all take way more shots than Hayward.

I think Harris and Favors will make a big difference in both the offense and defense.

I wasn't expecting a win in Dallas, so no surprises. So many major changes in such a short period of time. Concentration is at a premium right now.

I think Evans is going to have a hard time finding playing time with Favors on the team. Elson may be tied to the bench more also.

Elson and Price getting heavy minutes over Evans and Hayward makes no sense to me.

Its cause they are still trying to get to the playoffs so they can get swept in the 1st round.

But Price and Elson are far worse than Hayward and Evans.

I am starting to wonder if Ty knows what he is really doing out there?

I thought Corbin made several coaching mistakes in the Pistons game and it cost the Jazz. However, that's a subjective view point. I do think he'll get better at making decisions in the heat of the battle with more experience.

His rotation should be Jefferson, Harris, Millsap, AK, and Bell (but not for so many minutes) and then the bench should be Watson, Favors, Miles and Hayward. Fes, Elson, Price and Evans shouldn't get off the bench except rarely. Evans may go to the D-league. His time with the Jazz just diminished greatly with Favors being added. The Jazz can no longer wait for Evans to put on the 40 plus pounds it would take to make him consistently effective.

Evans has another year on his contract, so staying with the Jazz will depend on the draft and any free agents the Jazz pick up. He might be better off playing in Europe for a few years and trying to add some bulk.

Give him a break, it's game number six and this team has had few practices to gel. I think the Ty will be a good coach for us and I think that we will see our young players play more as Corbin becomes comfortable with being in charge.

mmm... the "players's coach" being more conservative than the other dude that used to coach the Jazz earlier in the season...

Hayward, Evans, are not ready to play with a team fighting every game to make postseason (of course it can be argued the best thing to do is to tank this season... but it's not that this next draft will get 5 or 6 HoF to the league....)

Fesenko... I'm starting to seriously give up on him...

Favors have to be given a little more PT...

Please get a starting shooting guard, it's been like a zillion years now... I don't want to die without watching a Jazz 2 making shots again...

If we're making a playoff push without Deron, I'd much rather have a good defender who wants to share the ball out there than CJ.

Agree. And CJ should not get any more shots per game than Hayward.
