How many minutes a gm will Favors get?

Post#1 » by Jazzy13 » Fri Feb 25, 2011 5:29 pm

He's buried behind Milsap and Al. But we need to develop this kid.

How many minutes will he end up getting?

How many games until Harris is our starter?

Favors needs time to develop, we have that time to give him in Utah. All three of these guys can play some center too, so we don't have too many big men. I mean we need to lose someone but not those three. What I like about Derrick is the minutes he gives will include good defense, so he will rarely be a liability.

I hope they give him 25 plus per game the rest of the year. I would love it if he was put into the starting line up. I think this kid is the future of the franchise.

Paul Millsap playing center is like Spud Webb playing small forward.

We should have a 3 man rotation for our PF and C spots with Al, Sap and Favors. Since we traded for him, we might as well give him sompe playing time. Plus, he can't be any worse than Fes or Elson, can he?

If there is a God, he will play at least 25. Lets not trade D-will and then bench what we got for him, shall we? Please?

probably about 10-15 because he will be in foul trouble most of the time.

We need to give him as many minutes as he can handle...... But, yeah, he'll usually be in foul trouble......

My guess for the rest of the season 10 to 15 minutes a game. It depends on how quickly he catches on and doesn't disrupt the offense.

Next year 20 to 25 minutes. In year 3 he'll be a 30 minute guy or a 10 minute guy depending on how close he lives up to his potential. In year 3 he could be a force in the middle.

Let's hope so.

That would be a Sloan thing to do. I'm hoping Favors gets 35 mpg in this wasted season. We already know how good Millsap and Jefferson are.

I would start Favors over Millsap and give him 15-20 mins a game minimum.

Favors is on a new team i don't care whay he did in NJ! As a rookie he was drafted as trade bait. Never felt at home or loved at all. He knew he was not going to stay there. I hope he shows what he can do when a city embrasses him.

18-22 min I"d guess. But, I don't know Corbin or Favors enough to have much confidence in that guess.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Jeez, so you group Devin Harris in with Milt Palacio and think he will get few minutes because of lack of confidence. You are certainly the pessimist here.

First of all, I think most coaches are stupid for adhering to the whole "Foul Trouble" principle, where you pull a guy as soon as he has more fouls than the current quarter. (2 in the first quarter, 3 in the second, 4 in the third, etc). I think there are rare circumstances where it makes sense, but usually it doesn't; as an example, Sloan would pull Deron if he got two fouls in the first two minutes of the game, even if Ronnie Price was the only available backup.

I think it's an even dumber rule to follow with a rookie you only expect to play 20 minutes anyway.

Playing with Millsap & Jefferson should make him feel more comfortable, both starters should make the job easier for him. Not sure if he''ll get the same minutes(19) he got in NJ because Humphries was a starter getting part-time minutes.

I guess it'll be game-by-game decisions, if he's good give him all the minutes he can handle but if he's struggling limit his minutes a bit.

C - Jefferson 34 / Favors 12
PF - Millsap 32 / Favors 16

I'd like that rotation.

D-Rudd how did the thread get switched to Harris? I thought it was Favors. Harris will play 30 to 35 minutes a game within 2 or 3 games. With his years of experience, it won't take him to long to pick it right up.
