Congrats on the signing. Interest contract was signed when he is 1-5 probably got him cheaper.

Should have waited till the end of the year. I like him so far, but I don't think they should limit their options.

I'm glad they did it now, it shows they have confidence in him.

Shows they have confidence in him and it tells the players that the coaches run the show by committing to him. Ty is going to need a full off-season to look at the roster, and take a long and hard look on what changes he wants to make to the system, team, coaching staff.

There was zero chance of them shopping around for next year. That was a given given the full support the team gave him right from day 1. I think it's a good thing.

When the terms of the contract leak out, it will probably look something like this, I'd bet.

Around 4 years $2.5 mil first year rising to $4 mil after the third year. There maybe some incentives that could increase the amount in any specific year. I suspect with Corbin there's a buyout clause that's considerably less than the full value of the contract.

I think if Corbin had been unsigned into the summer, other teams would have offered him head coaching jobs. Originally I thought he should consider one, but with the trade, and if there's no lockout and draft choices, he'll likely have a pretty good team to work with.

Coaching contracts are never written in stone. Any coach can be fired without cause. The issue is how much it costs to terminate the contract.

It will cost the U $2 mil to say good bye to Boylen. The only question is which alum will pick up the bill. That deal can't come fast enough to suit me.

Corbin deserves 3 years to get it right. With the crew he's going to have, if he can't win 50 games a season, he needs to find something else to do.

yes he can be fired i'm aware. I'd prefer them to interview some other candiates and well i'm ok with this and don't mind them giving him the job I hope he can lead them to a winning season sooner or later. The jazz were losers till sloan..hopefully they dont go back to losing after him.

i think the jazz are lucky to have 6 games under his belt before he worked out a contract with them. he accepted the responsibility as full time head coach, (not interim) before he had a contract. how often do head coaches work for a team without a contract? i would have imagined they would have worked it out before he was named head coach.

One mistake after another.

Well, my post was a bit optimistic on Corbin's contract by a year.

Corbin got a 3 year deal with the third year as an option. I thought he would get 4 years with the third year as an option. I guess LHM is going conservative and taking a look first.

I think he should get the full three years to get it right, but after two years if the team isn't winning 50 games a year with the group they have now and the adds coming, then the Jazz are headed in the wrong direction.

Right now I think Corbin will do fine. Very very few NBA coaches have a net positive impact on the team as in winning extra games due to coaching. Sloan was a neutral when it came to coaching. I see Corbin as a neutral also.

You know Larry is still pulling the strings from where ever he is! There's been sightings of him in the ESA checking the restrooms and pointing out fans that need to be thrown out.

We need a Ghost Hunters ESA edition. They can use their cameras to watch for cold spots around the arena during the next game!

Tc must become less coward or he never see life of contract fulfilled.

Im not sold on Corbin yet, but it looks like the Jazz are. I agree that stability and backing up your coach are important, so if he's Utah's man....then I believe he is worth 3 years. If he can't have us winning consistently by year 3....then the Jazz will be justified in replacing him.

Ty cant coach worth a lick hes cost us games against Detroit, Boston and now Denver because of his rotation down the stretch and not knowing what the hell to do! Ty you were watching Jerry the whole year and who he had on the court at the end of the games when we beat teams in tight games so do the same dammit

that's the best line up to close out games because it give you size and rebounding but no he puts in the old man Raja Bell who cant keep up with anyone and the Jazz lose their leads with 3-4 min left to go and are forced to panic and have to come back in the final plays of the game and don't have a real go to guy anymore with both Williams and Memo not playing anymore (via trade & injury) those two hit the big shots the last 6 years.

Corbin also lets the refs get away with no calls for hell sake Ty get mad and get a T its about time to blow up and get pissed off at one of the refs!
