I think it's worth mentioning that Jerry and Frank did not have to deal with major player movement in the first year, and they both had rosters with players whose numbers now hang from our rafters (Frank-2, Jerry-4!). Currently there is nobody that has earned that honor as of today. (They may in the future)

It's safe to say that if we were winning right now Ty would be a great coach, but the point of this thread is that he still *might* do that after some time.

Here's to hoping.

I'd like to see who they had, cause Ty has a talent to get .600+, not that I'd expect it this early, but better than 2-8? YES. With that said, outside of last night's blowout, I think we've played with energy, but the team doesn't have the synergy to close out games. Great coaches deal with closing games well, Sloan closed out games very well, so do Pops and Phil Jackson. Now bad coaches struggle at the end of games, just look at any bad team, or good teams coached by a bad coach, like the Heat.

I just hate that the Jazz signed Ty after 5 games, without enough time to evaluate him over the course of 25-30 games. People weren't going to be throwing contracts at Ty, couldn't they have been a little more patient?

What I don't like is that we're doing a lot of the same things we did under Sloan, which we already knew weren't working......

Now, I don't know whether this is Corbin's strategy or the players just aren't listening, but whatever it is, it's not working...... And Corbin needs to make adjustments...... And for Christ's sake call a timeout.......

I like the fact that he's force feeding Jefferson on the block, we've all seen how effective he can be operating on the block as opposed to shooting 15 foot jumpshots....... I don't like the fact that Hayward is getting less playing time than Bell...... There's absolutely no excuse for that......

I don't like how few minutes Favors is getting....... Where is Fesenko? Is he injured?

What exactly are we saving our young guys for? Summer league?

The problem I see with this comparison is that Frank Layden was a terrible coach. The one thing he did do was get players to play hard for him because they liked him. Sloan demanded players to play hard but was a terrible X and O guy who didnt relate well with todays players. Corbin is a complete disaster.

I guess if Corbin became Sloan or at least Layden then it would be an improvement because right now he looks like the worst coach in the league on the team playing the worst basketball in the league.
