Say instead of signing AK we had sign Pau to that max deal
how many conference titles, championships are we talkin?

You think the Jazz would have been as stupid as Memphis in letting him go to the Lakers?
It's a fair question - the Jazz would have drafted differently and not wasted picks on Koufos and Fes. Deron would probably still be here.

Why would you think we'd still have Deron? I don't think we would have finished as badly that year.....
But then, we wouldn't have Boozer, AK and probably Memo, so we might have been even worse......
Can you imagine BOozer and Gasol in the same frontcourt? Worse defense ever......

Worse than Boozer-Okur? Not a chance.
And my thinking is that paying Gasol is sill a lot less than paying AK, Boozer and Okur. I think we still have at least one of those guys, and possible some other decent role players. It's impossible to say for sure, but I think Gasol/Deron/couple solid role players > than Deron/Mr. Inconsistent/Mr. undersized & injury prone.

When did we have a chance at Gasol? Also a lot people overlooked Gasol before going to LA.

I don't even care to think about it. This is one of the biggest drafts in Jazz history coming up. We need to pick 2 people that are going to be here oving foward. This team with Sap out is not going to win many games coming down the stretch so with 2 lotto picks we need to really cash in.

AK was a much better player at the time, freak injuries just ruined his career.
