Trade Proposal Millsap for Aaron Afflalo
Would we do it, and would Denver? I would, and i think both GM's would.

I think we can get more. We can't be sure how much Afflolo will make next year, either.
In '03-'04, Jerry Sloan coached the ESPN predicted "worst team of all time" to 42-40.

Can't decide if Denver would do it. I'd lean toward "yes," but it wouldn't be a no-brainer for me.

Not enough for the Jazz. Also depends on the money Affalo gets.

13ppg in 35mpg, and you'd trade Millsap? He's very efficient, yes, but I feel like I'm missing something. Millsap has been playing hurt most of the season, and he still has put up 16.9ppg 7.8rpg 2.3apg 1.4spg .9bpg in 34mpg as a 3rd option.

Re: Trade Proposal Millsap for Aaron Afflalo
What? Are you guys serious?
We ought to be able to get an Afflalo type in the draft this year with our late lottery pick, hell no would I trade Millsap for that.
Millsap had a bit of a bad year in the second half, but he's having to adjust to being second fiddle in the starting line up to Al Jefferson, and he's still a 17/8 guy with 50+% shooting, and he has the ability to single handedly win you a game, the same can't be said for Afflalo.
Afflalo is a decent player, but he's nowhere near the same caliber as Millsap. Starting SG's who shoot 40+% from 3 aren't exactly impossible to find anymore, I'd much rather address that in free agency than with a trade of one of our 2 best players.

Re: Trade Proposal Millsap for Aaron Afflalo
Considering there was a MIllsap for Pietrus/R. Lopez deal almost completed (and my guess is the Jazz wanted more,) the Jazz ought to be able to get way more than just Afflalo.
I'd be looking for a deal like Fields/Turiaf for MIllsap and some second round picks or something. Millsap is an upper level starting PF in the league, those guys don't come around very often, especially with his contract, and the fact that he's locked up long term, and he hasn't even entered his prime.

I like Afflalo, but not this much.

Re: Trade Proposal Millsap for Aaron Afflalo
Is Fields/Turiaf really leaps and bounds better? Fields and Afflalo both shoot great percentages, with Afflalo more accurate on threes and free throws. Landry is a superior rebounder and three years younger.
I'd have to ruminate hard on dealing for Afflalo, but I'd have to think hard on Fields also. Turiaf is a meaningless throw-in.

Re: Trade Proposal Millsap for Aaron Afflalo
IMO fields does a lot more than afflalo, and has a brighter future. Turiaf replaces some of what we lose with Paul, afflalo doesn't. And I'd probably want second rounders from the knicks instead of the other way around.

JFC. Why didn't we just match Matthews.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Re: Trade Proposal Millsap for Aaron Afflalo
Wow, I can't believe anybody would even consider it?
Milsap is here to stay, Great player, great contract.
Why on earth would you want to move him?
I would only consider it if he was part of a huge deal to bring back a franchise player.

Re: Trade Proposal Millsap for Aaron Afflalo
I want to pencil Favors in as the starter permanently moving forward.
Trade MIllsap for something unless we can convince him to be our little Ginobli on the bench. Realistically though, I see him as pretty much major trade bait at this point

Re: Trade Proposal Millsap for Aaron Afflalo
I really, really like Afflalo. And with Favors, AK, Al and Memo all able to play the 4, I think Sap is our most valuable trade piece. However just because we have a bunch of capable PFs doesn't mean we should trade one of them for less than his market price IMO.
