36 minutes tonight.
13 points
3 rebound
5 assists
1 3pt
3 blocks
1 TO
I'll take that every night. I don't think we'll get 3 blocks every night, but, he's got some decent ability to surprise folks with his shot blocking ability. Would like to see a few more rebounds and maybe a few more 3pt attempts.
But, he definitely didn't look like a bust tonight. Not a star player either, but, maybe a quality starter. I'm thinking a rich man's Korver. Korver with a better floor game.

I still thinks he plays a lot more like Turkoglu than Korver.

Yeah, he seems to like making plays rather than spot up a shoot. I just hope he becomes more aggressive shooting the ball.

He needs to be more agressive...... But that should come with more playing time......
He also needs to work on his ball-handling, but his athleticism is excellent, there's no reason, other than Corbin's stupidity as a coach, why Hayward shouldn't be a star in the NBA.......

I've always thought of him as Ginobili light. Can put the ball on the floor and create. Versatile. Obviously nowhere near as good near the rim though.

He might be the Jazz's smartest player and he is a rookie. Good passer, good ball handler, shooting 3 pretty well, and good defender. Adios AK-47 bc Hayward/Miles are our new SF/SG next year. If Miles had Hayward's brain, he would be a great player.

I would settle with CJ having a brain period.

Yes! I see the Ginobili in him as well, but hopefully without the flopping.
I think he can get to be that good near the rim. He's surprised me with his ability to finish near the rim, he's just not aggressive enough to attack. He seems to have the athleticism and the body control to finish well, he just needs to be less timid.

Hayward can be a really solid player in the league when given minutes.

Hayward seems to do better when closer to the hole especially when he drives baseline. I like that. His jumper is still a bit iffy but hey it isn't anything practice can't improve.

Yeah, but he's got a way to go before he's better than canned soup.

I cant wait to see him with another offseason under his belt. Hit the weights a little more and get that jumper going and he could be something. Great effort you got to love that.

The more I've watched Hayward the more I've felt like AK has become expendable.
Hayward can do everything AK can (except for weak side blocks but AK doesn't hardly do that anymore) and can shoot. AK is just going to take minutes away from Hayward and as much as I love the guy...he just isn't going to be worth the money or the minutes he takes away from Hayward.

Good point, I'm with you on this.

what r u guys talking about, ak47 can play up to 4 positions and can do that at a veteran level, what the guys are you going to complain about, when ak47 is on the court he isn't taking minutes from anyone, he is the best player on the jazz right now.

I completely disagree. Ak has games where he's the best player onthe floor, and other games where he's a complete zero. Give hay the minutes, it'll pay off down the line. Plus, is there any doubt that prok in nj offers ak an above market deal, he may just save the jazz from themselves.
