ok not sure we could just play Hayward as back up PG. Why waste money on this guy? He cant shoot whatsoever. He can play both PG and SG but neither one that well. Seems like a waste of money but I guess you have to have enoguh players to practice and dress for the games.

Who called it? That's right, I did....

But really, this is a great signing. Weaver is an NBA calibre player.

Should I get more or less excited about the last minor league player they called up?
How many players that have been called up and carved out a decent career in the NBA anyway? I'm sure there are some, I just can't think of one right now. (calling up your own player doesn't count here)

Hey I mean before we took a chance on Wesley Matthews how many undrafted training-camp invitees were able to experience the immediate type of success he has?
Not saying Weaver is any good .... ill just take any reason to be excited

http://www.nba.com/dleague/news/alltimecallups.htmlOff the top of my head Chris Anderson is probably the most important player.

The only one I can think of was Mikey Moore in 2004-2005.

James Singleton and Mike Taylor were both flash-in-the-pan NBA players too. Reggie Williams is looking pretty good, Mikki Moore was good, Louis Amundson is another nice player from the NBDL, Joel Anthony has had a fairly long career....I can probably think of more if I really want too.
Edit: This is a good list -
Some of the called-up D-League players that went on to have successful NBA careers include Rafer Alston, Louis Amundson, Chris Andersen, Kelenna Azubuike, Matt Barnes, Devin Brown, Will Bynum, Matt Carroll, Eddie Gill, Stephen Graham, Jason Hart, Chuck Hayes, Anthony Johnson, Dahntay Jones, Jamario Moon, Mikki Moore, Smush Parker, Bobby Simmons, Ime Udoka, Von Wafer, C. J. Watson, and Mike Wilks.

Very few players have become regular players for multiple seasons with the team that called them up. i think that's what he meant. Chris Anderson getting called up by Denver seems to be the only multi-year guy.

Weaver played with Earl watson in OKC for his rookie year too. that could help him get going with our bench. Wouldnt be a bad bench player to have til the end of the season.

Locke said that he is excited about this and that weaver has a good chance of sticking with the team into the future.

Just because two guys are teammates doesn't mean they get along. Sometimes being teammates means getting into fights over high stakes games of Bourré or pulling guns on each other in the locker room.

Why didn't the jazz grab Otha Jeffers when they had the chance?
